Due to the numbers of COVID-19 cases in our church family and in our community, we won't have any services on campus this Sunday, December... 27 and no midweek activities on December 30. Good morning, FBC Springfield family. I wanted to let you know that Amy and I have tested positive for COVID-19, and we have been hearing from many others in ou...r congregation who are saying the same. As much as we hate to do it, we think it would be most wise to cancel our in person Christmas Eve service this evening. No one is more disappointed to have to do that than me. Please help us spread the word due to the late notice. Even so! We still have much to be thankful for. We still have a Savior who left heaven to come to us and bring salvation, and He is the one of whom the prophets spoke, saying, "The sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings." - Malachi 4:2 We are trusting God for greater things on the other side of these earthly sorrows, and it's all because of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Springfield Methodist called and said the Joint Ladies Social has been canceled until next year. They have offered to host it in 2021. They would like the ladies to stay safe this year.

Our church's week for Family Promise will be August 16-22. With COVID, she is asking for gift cards from anyone willing to donate (please see note below) From Colleen Webb: I also need some Gift Cards for Breakfast and Lunch items. These cards will be given to staff to purchase needed items for those meals for the families. Can this request be sent out through the prayer list or any other email provision we have? Folks could drop the cards off at the church. I can't drive yet (surgery), but I'm sure I can get someone to take them to the Family Promise site.

We will be ripping up carpet, pulling lattice from under the decks, vacuuming the shop area, cleaning up and throwing away miscellaneous items in the yard, and removing old basketball goals. In addition, we hope to paint the kitchen cabinets, living room and hallway. JULY 30 (Thursday) - DURING THE DAY: FINISH ALL DEMO AND PAINTING AT THE OLD HOUSE IN LOST PLANTATION (RINCON) - 503 DRESLER ROAD (RINCON) JULY 31 (Friday) - MORNING AND EVENING: HELP WITH THE MOVE ... We will need TRUCKS and TRAILERS to load up all boxes and furniture at the rental to move to the new house. For those of you that have not heard, Eric and Amy have purchased a forever home here in Effingham. They will be closing the first of the week and must be out of their rental by next Sunday. Clothes going out today from True Religion Clothes Closet. Please spread the word! We have uniforms if you know a family in need. You can contact myself or Laur...a Devisscher. The closet is a revolving door of clothes coming in and out. Before COVID-19 we were averaging 7 referrals a month. The need right now is help with organization as referrals are picking back up. If you are willing to volunteer or want to bring your church group, we have plenty of work to keep you busy! Our referrals are people who are desperate and in need of assistance. As you are aware, we had tornadoes in our area last night. Two of our church members live at the Nixville community that was hit so hard this morning. Heather and Zadok are fine and are using generator power. Items are being collected to help those in need. I will be attaching the announcement below. You can contact me, Nancy Horton , Heather Anne Moss or the church if you would like to help out. One thing not listed on here is new undergarments. Thanks and please pray for this community.

Ladies, I hope you are well. I really do miss seeing you all and can hardly wait for all the hugs the first day back. Many of you have reached out asking for ways you can help. Besides donations to God's Mission House, Brett Dye is sewing masks, headbands and surgical caps for regional medical staff. If anyone has any of the following items, she would welcome them to be dropped off on her porch or outside the church office in a box designated for drop-offs. Current needs: Bin...ding - no wider than 3/4" but would prefer 1/2". It takes 50" to make one mask. Folded over elastic,- no wider than 3/4" but would prefer 1/2" . Any color is welcomed.
