Prayer Update for the Week of 19 APR 21 Good morning folks, How do you pray? Well, according to Mother Teresa - You should to to God like a little child. A child has no difficulty expressing their mind in simple words that say so much. If a child is not yet spoiled and has not yet learned to tell lies, they will tell everything. This is what I mean by being childlike." So, let us go to Almighty God, with childlike inhibitions, and pray for our family, friends and neighbors ...in need - One of the hardest things we may find hard to do, is wait. This can be especially painful when we are in a hurry or running late or when we want things done now, if not sooner! But friends, as we all know the plans God has for us do not always happen in the way or in the timing that we would like. And so, our job, as God fearing women and men who trust in a very generous and sovereign God - is to be patient and wait for God to reveal Himself. Now, for sure, we men and women know exactly what we want and when we want it. However, Almighty God has a much better plan for each of us. You see, God has created a world that is revealed according to His timeline and not ours, and folks, thanks be to God for that. And if we are really smart about the whole thing, we will turn it over to Him and trust Him and wait patiently for Him. After all, Almighty God is trustworthy, and for sure, He always knows what is best. Pray with me, Almighty God, we give You our thanks and praise for this day and for another opportunity to serve and carry out Your Will. Strengthen us do so with joy and gratitude in our hearts. Lord, Your wisdom is infinite, and the unfolding of Your heavenly plan is perfect. You have a plan for each of us that is much larger than any of us could ever image. When we get impatient, remind us that You are never early or late, that You are always on perfect time. Lord, hear our prayer for our neighbors, that we may all learn to get along and live together in peace and that we, Your servants, not return evil for evil. Lord, as the dawning of this day unfolds the possibilities of new life, open our eyes to the signs of Your resurrection and confirm in our hearts the sovereignty of Your amazing grace. Lord, You continue to shore us up with Your love even when we ignore Your presence and Your voice. As we rest this night, let us sleep without the fear of the darkness or death, but rise refreshed to start over with a new day in grateful service. Hear our prayer in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen

Prayer Update for the Week of 22 FEB 21 My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. Proverbs 4: 10... Folks, please be prayer for our family, friends and neighbors in need - I think we would accept the definition of being teachable as the ability to take in knowledge or instruction. When you think about it, being teachable is something needed in all of us, no matter our age. Being teachable is certainly a must when it comes to obtaining godly wisdom and experiencing growth as a Christian. God used King Solomon to remind you and me of His faithfulness to provide plenty of opportunity to soak up the wisdom that comes only from God. This acquired wisdom is made possible through God’s Word. But folks, one of the many neat things about God is He also provides many, other opportunities to acquire wisdom through our parents, our teachers, our pastors and our community neighbors of believers. Solomon’s words are a wonderful source of teaching us that accepting his words will lead to a fruitful and long life. Now, we are not guaranteed that we will live many years on this earth; however, God does promise a full life - a life full of godly meaning and purpose when we accept and put to use His wisdom. Even more important than that folks, we should embrace that true longevity is eternal life, which is God’s promise when we follow Jesus Christ. Pray with me friends, Almighty God, first, we give You our thanks and praise for another day to carry out Your work and Your will. Lord, help us never forget that You provide all and we are charged with being good stewards of our time, talents and treasures. May we use them to further Your kingdom. Lord, soften our hearts so that we may - in humility - receive and embrace Your wisdom. Lord, as we devote our days of Lent to letting go of those things that separate us from You and really focus on becoming the folks You have designed and need us to be, shape us by Your Holy Spirit into the image of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, so that we will be ready, by Your grace, to face the power of death with Your promise of eternal life. Lord, hear our prayer for the church in times of challenge and trial. Give us peace when anger, resentment and fear threaten to divide us. Open the eyes of the leaders in high places so that they may see Your saving power at work, and open their ears to hear Your prophets calls for justice. Lord, as we step off into this day, give us the wisdom to obey Your commandments, and to choose the fruit that gives life - the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, wrap us in Your mercy, and let us rest in Your presence; of the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen
