9/11 monument that is located in station 1...like LT. Stanley said we remember! 343 firefighters lost their lives that horrific day. We will take a moment to remember all that perished that day. "He bravely March into the depths of hell to face the fears of many, and to extinguish the demons that rage free. All men are created equal but then a few become firefighter's."

Around 4:00 pm, a powerful storm came through Lamar. At 4:05pm, the Lamar County Fire Department was dispatched to multiple locations in Milner for trees and power lines being down on road ways. E1, Chief Matthews and multiple volunteers responded. Shortly after, we had multiple engines(E1,E8,E3,E6) and pov's surveying damage and checking on the citizens of Milner. It appears that the damage was from straight line winds. At this time, we would like to advise the roads are back open and no citizens were harmed by this storm. Special thanks to (Chuck Odom of GPSTC and David Hopper Guerilla crash testing team) without them this training would not have been possible LCFD Got to do som...e real life training tonight with a STAGED car crash conducted last week at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth. Most of everyone on this page has seen the video of the crash testing done last week tonight we got to use the crash as a part of the LCFD Monday night training. The serrano was that a patrol car during a traffic stop was struck from the rear. The patrol car had a person who had just been arrested in the rear of the car and was trapped in the vehicle as a result of the collision. There was also a bystander that was trapped under one of the other vehicles involved in the crash. Part of the responding firefighters were responsible for removing the victim in the rear of the patrol car and other team members were responsible for removing the victim trapped under the car. (It don't get no more real than this ) REMEMBER NO DUMMYS WERE INJURED DURING THIS TRAINING EXERCIZE TONIGHT....LOL See more
