It's that time of year! Tamal Season is here We are NOW taking orders for Christmas. Last day to place orders is Wednesday, Dec 23 by 10pm (payments must be made by this date as well or orders may not be guaranteed). We will be open Christmas Eve from 6am-4pm, CLOSED CHRISTMAS DAY. You will still be able to walk in and place orders same day but availability may very, as they will be on a first come first serve basis until sold out. Our Day of the Dead alter is up and done just in time to honor all our loved ones who have passed away. . We would like to take the time to honor our beloved mother Rosa Lucia Hernandez, whose love for cooking inspired La Mixteca. Our mother was always one to have a nice warm plate on the table ready to feed her nine children. She always expressed her love for us through her cooking, but she wanted to be able to do just that for others as well. To be able to put a smile on pe...ople's face through her cooking always made her happy. . We would like thank each and every one of our customers who have always been there to support our small business. It always made our mother happy to know that she could make others so happy through her cooking. . One of our great customers, Pedro, will like to do a last minute memorial for our mother today from 5pm-6pm, so will be closing our kitchen for one hour. He will be singing and dedicating a few of our traditional Chilenas songs in her memory. UPDATE: Starting Tuesday April 14 we will be taking pre-orders for tamales ONLY! (limited time only) . During this pandemic we will not be offering tamales on sight. All tamales must be pre-ordered and paid in advance at least a day (24 hours) in advance. This includes all tamale dishes such as our tamale plate, tamal bowl, tamal sandwich, and tamale packages.
