As a follow up to last weeks video this is an initial video to discuss how my family is working toward financial independence and how that fits into our progress toward a more minimalist lifestyle.

About 3.5 years ago there was a series of events that lead to the changes in lifestyle and priorities that I now call our progressive minimalism. Here is a little back story on that.

I love going to the farmers market! The kind that pops up weekly near my house where I can support local farmers are fantastic. They can have limited items and sometimes they are only available during certains seasons. Then there is the more permanent kind like the Your Dekalb Farmers Market where I go for a huge variety of fruits, veggies, nuts, spices, fish, meats, cheese, and more. It is a playground of items that you simply cannot find in traditional grocery stores. I also love the diversity of culture in the stores, patrons, and staff. It is much less expensive as a bonus. Consider trying even just one plant to connect with the process of growing your own food. Even in the most itty bitty of living spaces a small herb garden is possible.

In today's video I am making homemade mayonnaise. Homemade mayonnaise is delicious and can be altered for your individual taste. I use a Vitamix in the video but you could use any blender, hand blender, or food processor.
