Here is a bodyweight workout that your young athlete can use to help prepare for the season. Do this workout three times a week, no more. Doing this more than three times a week can cause unnecessary stress and damage to the young body. If your athlete struggles with this workout at first, progressively work him into it. The athlete should be pushing himself physically, but not to the point of exhaustion or injury. BODYWEIGHT WORKOUT 40 Burpees (can be done in 4 sets of... 10) 100 Bodyweight Squats (can be done in 4 sets of 25) 50 Push-ups (can be done in 5 sets of 10) 100 Jumping Jacks 30 lunges per leg (can be done in 3 sets of 10) 60 Plyo Squats (can be done in 3 sets of 20) 30 sit ups (can be done in 3 sets of 10) 50 quick calf jumps (can be done in 2 sets of 25) 50 arm circles (can be done in 2 sets of 25) 30 crunches (can be done in 3 sets of 10) 30 wide grip push ups (can be done in 3 sets of 10) 50 Mountain Climbers (should at least be done in 5 sets of 10) 20 shuttle drills (set two cones 10 yards apart and starting in the middle go to one side and then the other and back to the middle. This completes one shuttle run. Do this 20 times alternating which side you start going towards from the middle. 10 Sprints (30 to 40 yards in length) no more than 1 minute between each sprint. Distance running for conditioning is optional on days that the workout is not being done. If you are unsure what each exercise is you can look it up on YouTube and there are videos showing each exercise. Please send in some feedback on how the work-outs are going. Video feedback showing the work-out is welcomed as well. Let's push each other to be better.

Everyone keep your eyes out for an announcement (that will be posted to this page) that we will be holding the first round of try-outs for the team in the next two to three weeks. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we have all had to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. I am looking forward to getting the players active, engaged, and out on the field. I would encourage everyone to be practicing 30 and 40 yard dash times and running; practicing football stances (2 point, 3 po...int and 4 point stances); firing out of those stances; the shuttle drill; the W cone drill; lateral movement; tackling form; blocking form; ball handling skills; and pass catching and throwing as they all will be tested at the try-outs. While we cannot practice yet, I encourage all players to work on their conditioning and endurance on their own as this will be an important part of our program and we have lost time working on this aspect due to the pandemic. I also encourage all parents to review football basics with your player/child. This includes the name of positions and hole numbers. Please be on the look out as I intend to post here some informational sheets for review to go over these basics and some football terminology we will be using this coming season. I look forward to seeing you all soon. Coach Nate
