What the heck is Excel and what can I do with it? Would you like to learn the basics of Microsoft Excel in a local, small, casual setting without any long term commitment? August 2014 is Excel month! I am putting together 3 separate classes Wednesday 8:30am-4:00pm Tues / Thurs Nights 5:30pm 8:30pm Saturday 8:30am-4:00pm... The dates are up in the air. Between now and July 31, I will be accepting inquiries and suggestions on which days in August are the best for the majority and location either Tifton or Adel. August 1, I will announce class location and dates and will begin accepting registrations. Class size is limited to 6 students max and will require at least 2 to make. Now the question most everyone wants to know how much is this going to cost me? Each 6 hour class is $140.00 per student. BUT WAIT, if you register and pay by the end of early registration, you will receive a $20.00 discount, so each 6 hour class becomes $120.00 per student. BUT WAIT, if you bring your own laptop with Microsoft Excel on it (any version), you will receive an extra $20.00 discount, so if you register & pay early and bring your own laptop, each 6 hour class becomes $100.00 per student. You can use either or both of the discounts! So what am I getting for my money? Introduction to Excel what is it? What can you use it for? Basic terms. Moving around your spreadsheet. What is a formula? How to use basic formulas such as sum, average, and count. Creating a basic spreadsheet. Saving your spreadsheet. Updating, editing, and changing your spreadsheet. 3 hours of instruction and 3 hours of hands-on instruction. Each class will be structured as: 30 minutes of introduction to new material then 30 minutes of computer time then 30 minutes of introduction to new material then 30 minutes of computer time, and so on. End of class will be an open session for questions and answers. Information package to take with you. There will be 2-3 laptops for students to share to practice during each 30 minutes of computer time, if you don’t bring your own.
