Reminder that we are a team so we may be interchanging or working together for your shampoos, blowdrying, toning, styling! Price increases begin January 2021, so although you are booking your 2021 appointments now, please keep in mind these will increase SLIGHTLY for 2021 and are not yet reflected on schedulicity. Please remember to give us 24hr+ notices if you need to cancel and keep in mind rescheduling before the holidays may not be possible. We are doing our very best to squeeze extra clients in this season but please keep in mind we know our limits and what kind of energy and focus our craft takes and we will not compromise that when scheduling clients. I don’t stop when I’m tired; I stop when I’m done. I’ve been fighting some silent battles lately as I’m sure we all are. I tend to carry the stress and weight of things happening in the lives of my loved ones as well... anyone else do this? It’s not my mental breakdown, divorce, job loss, or financial issues, but I feel that burden for those around me and it affects me. This is just my current recipe of life’s soupThrow in a pandemic, high stake election, growing business..., health issues, busy season, holidays, etc... it can be a lot. I know I’m not the only one who feels a little overwhelmed right now but a lot of people don’t talk about it. So here’s my encouragement to not quit just because you’re tired... push through it, get it done, get through it, then rest. Don’t stop when you’re tired stop when you’re done! You got this! Copper tones have been making their way around the salon lately and we are here for it! Here’s some tips if you’re taking the plunge into red hair this holiday season: Cool water is your best friend! Stay away from hot water or your color will fade quicker.... Make sure you are using a GOOD, salon quality shampoo! Cheaper shampoos will strip color. Go as long as you can in between washes! Use dry shampoo to help absorb oils if it’s looking dirty. A lot of new faces around here so allow me to re-introduce myself and my reason why...I’m Laura. I’ve wanted to be a hairstylist and a mom for as long as I can remember. My dreams have come true, but it wasn’t an easy path getting here. I took the long route to cosmetology school. I was not encouraged to pursue this passion. I was self taught, left a 4 year university to get an AS in business marketing, worked in the corporate world for a year, then finally went to hair scho...ol + pursued my dream career. Graduated and jumped straight into owning my own business and working in a booth rental salon. Amazing right? Almost. I’ve wanted to be a mom my whole life. When my husband and I got married I was low key hoping we would have a baby right away. It wasn’t happening. We tried and tried and were one step away from seeking fertility assistance when I found out I was pregnant amazing right? Almost. At 28 weeks pregnant I found out there was something wrong with my baby’s heart and it turned my world upside down. I found out my baby I had tried and prayed for, for 3 years, was going to be born with congenial heart defects and we would spend a great deal of time in the hospital with multiple procedures and surgeries. This baby has put me through emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical hell but everything I do is for him. Getting pregnant with him wasn’t easy, thinking I lost him at 8.5 weeks from a massive hemorrhage wasn’t easy, bringing him into this world wasn’t easy, watching him be taken from me in the operating room to watching him being loaded in an ambulance from my hospital room window wasn’t easy, spending the first 10 days post c-section and as a first time mom in the hospital was not easy, handing my 9 month old over to a surgeon who performed an 8hr open heart surgery wasn’t easy, having no answers as to why and how long your baby will need a feeding tube was not easy, being a stay at home mom by day and working only evenings and weekends the first 17 months of my baby’s life was not easy... so THIS is why. HE is why. I love my family and I love my husband, but I didn’t have to fight like hell for them. I fought like hell for my career and my son.
