Happy Monday I thought of this quote while I was watching For All Man Kind with my husband. While For All Mankind is science fiction and partially based on a true story, it reminds me of the steps NASA had to take to get us to the moon. What is even more impressive is the way it was done. They had many setbacks, but they were learning and kept moving forward. While many of us faced many setbacks last year, I still think it was a great year. While I had to take a few steps ba...ck, I was able to take steps forward. I continued to show up every day (even days I didn’t want to work). These steps lead me to some great opportunities with writing, speaking, learning, and finding new clients. So even though you may take a few steps back, you can still take steps forward to your goal. This is one of the critical aspects of Continuous Improvement: experimenting and learning from your mistakes. What are you experimenting on this week? My 61st lunch was with Raymond Dyer, who I met through the ASQ Canada last year. Raymond and I had a great conversation about careers, education, COVID, Continuous Improvement, and Montreal. We spent some time talking about using modems and the different speeds. It is interesting to reminisce how we all used slow-speed modems (1400, 2400, etc.) versus today's high speed. We also spoke about getting the COVID vaccine and discussing how availability is different in the US vs.... Canada. I love how the nature of conversation within each of my lunches takes all kinds of paths.
