NUDES BEFORE AND AFTER! To say I am in love with the new Color.Me shades is an understatement!! For this look I did a grey coverage new growth application of 5.00+ YELLOW BOOSTER +20 VOL (%6) and a full highlight of CREAM.LIGHTENER+30 VOL (%9). The color overlay is equal parts 8.28+9.28 + 10 VOL (%3). She’s styled with BODY.MASS , ANTI.GRAVITY LOTION, and STAYING.ALIVE. Finished with SESSION.SPRAY.FLEX

I have NEVER been as excited for new Color.Me shades as I am for the NUDE series coming soon! I’m been fortunate to play with them and I’ve been stunned! If you like rich warmth that’s not gold this will be the shade for you!!

The dreaded split! I see this happen so often with new clients, where they’ve gotten tightly packed partials for so long that the underneath of their hair is one solid color, and the top is another, leaving a split up the side of the head when their hair is pulled up. One way to modify this if your client only wants a partial is to foil their hairline underneath, or once or twice yearly full heads (doesn’t have to be a heavy application) to marry the two together. With Jenifer here we knew we wanted to keep a lot of the natural depth underneath so I utilized a Teasy light to keep it super blended and natural warm glaze.

I took her from blonde to this fabulous red in two steps: Re-pigmented with 8.43+3.5 VOL(1%) Then directly on top of the Re-pigmentation formula I used 7.4 +10% RED BOOSTER +10 VOL (%1)

Two step Merlot on a natural brown canvas! I loved seeing Kat again after a long time, so long that all her previous color had grown out and we were able to start from scratch. I first balayaged her hair to a level seven, being careful not too lift too light to keep a strong warm undertone for the red. Then I did an all over color using equal parts COLOR.ME 5.6+5.86+20VOL. Highlights were important to create dimension and give bright pops of color throughout. I styled her with SMOOTH.AGAIN and BEDROOM.HAIR.

Merry Christmas to my Austy Poo! This human has brought me so much joy since they came to work with me a year and a half ago (and in the 14 years before that since they came into my life in hair school). Hand Painted Bronde This is a great look for low Maintence color that still packs in the drama. Formula: Teasy lights in thick sections with COLOR.ME CREAM.LIGHTENER on the sides and backs. Back to back Teasy lights to the scalp Irina the face for a bold money piece. Glazed with @redken shades 30G 9NB + 10G 8GI.

Pro tip: I see the question all the time, Why does purple lift to green? Well, because the starting pigment for many purples is green (see video for visual) and will often lift to a pale mint green as a result. When I custom make purple with direct dyes or with SHADES, I always incorporate green to maintain vibrancy. When purple lifts to green I’ve had good results with lifting to the pale mint green and toning with a pink direct dye or diluted ROSE.TONER (depending on the depth of the green left) and getting a neutral blonde that way, versus trying to lift %100 of the green out and risking damaging the hair.
