https://www.washingtonpost.com//want-your-police-departm/ Investigating and preventing crime should be the focus of police work, not creating revenue by collecting fines, fees, and civil forfeitures from citizens. Collecting money from the general public while not protecting them, fosters a distrust of law enforcement and does nothing to prevent criminal activity.... Make no mistake, policing is one of the hardest jobs in this country, but when law enforcement makes their focus monetary gain over public safety and trust, something needs to change.

https://www.innocenceproject.org/quiz-much-know-prosecuto/ New York recently passed a historic law which creates an independent commission addressing prosecutorial misconduct. While most prosecutors are honest, ethical, and diligent, some may commit prosecutorial misconduct. It is extremely important to have an experienced and hard-working advocate on your side if you have to navigate the criminal justice system. If you or someone you know finds themselves in trouble with the law, contact Fleming Law, PC at (912)349-7429 and speak with an advocate. Also, take the quiz below offered by The Innocence Project and see how much you know about prosecutorial misconduct.

If you are stopped by the police while driving, is it ever a good idea to run from law enforcement? The answer is simply, NO, and the consequences of doing so are very serious in Georgia. Georgia makes it a felony with a two year minimum sentence for fleeing and eluding (O.C.G.A. 40-6-395(b)(5)(A)). Most motor vehicle infractions, such as driving with a suspended license, might only lead to a fine. If you are stopped by police, do not make the situation worse by attempting to flee, which will have life-altering consequences. If you or someone you know has been charged with any motor vehicle infraction, or any criminal violation, call an attorney with years of experience here in Savannah and across the state. Do not leave your outcome up to chance, call Fleming Law today at (912)349-7429.

The new hands free law in Georgia has been in effect since July 1st. Since then, police in Georgia have issued thousands of citations. Drivers are now forbidden from having a phone in their hands or touching their body while driving; that means no texting, emailing, browsing social media, or talking on the phone while driving unless the phone is in hands-free mode. There is no age distinction and this law affects every driver in Georgia. For better or for worse, teen drivers ...are no longer forbidden from using electronic devices while driving, as long as they obey the hands free law. There is no call more important than your life or the life of others. Please obey the hands-free law wherever you travel, but especially in Georgia. If you need an attorney with decades of experience in criminal defense and traffic, please contact us to discuss your case.
