First Christian Church of Lawrenceville 06.05.2021

God wants us to make disciples, God wants us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, which means we’re living we’re walking we’re breathing representations of what a follower of Christ is supposed to look like outside. God wants us to love people- all people, all people, ALL PEOPLE- as God loves all people. This Sunday’s service is now available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/LD4ZT0RoTsM

Have you taken the survey yet? As we continue to discern the correct path for reopening, we value your voice! Attached is the link to a survey regarding preferences for service in the future. Please fill it out completely, and we will abide by the decision of the majority. Deadline for the survey is Saturday, April 24th. We will announce next steps directly after. Make your voice heard. https://docs.google.com//1QG7xkSizGXEWQlisVycvL29vPZ4/edit

The events of the Resurrection bring us to a new Easter-tide series entitled, "Out of Sight, Out of Mind." Why is Jesus so unrecognizable to so many who walked right beside him? Partially because He didn't look the way they thought he would. When we look at our world, do we see Jesus in ways we aren't expecting? We will journey together to see Jesus in places we never thought to look for Him. Join me beginning this Sunday. Please read John 20:24-29 for Sunday. See you virtually! - Pastor Richard https://lawrencevillechristianchurch.org/morningservice Photo by Randy Jacob

We are looking to revamp Bible Study! Pastor Richard is seeking to change up the format and try out a book study rather than a lecture series. If you have a book that you think our church family could explore together, comment below or get in touch with Pastor Richard! We can't wait to get back to studying together soon.

We might have to navigate fools and deal with some tense situations, but in Christ we can handle however other people may act." This Sunday’s service is now available on YouTube! https://youtu.be/oQzbsCbxLy4

As much as we try to mold our world into Proverbs 31, we’re faced with the reality that the world is often much more like Proverbs 26 instead. So what can we do when faced with the fact that no matter what I do, people are going to be people? How do we act right when everyone else is acting up? Or do we just act up right back? Let’s find out together, this Sunday, online only, at 10:50. https://lawrencevillechristianchurch.org/morningservice

We were blessed with an abundance of fellowship this Resurrection Day! Our service was well-attended both in person and on Zoom and we had an incredible time worshipping our Savior together. Praying for many more days like this one!

He Lives! Please read Isaiah 60:-5, Luke 24:1-12 As of now, the forecast says NO RAIN so we will be meeting outdoors for our Easter celebration. It has been so long since we have seen each other's faces. Don't forget to mask up and bring your own chair and a blanket; it’s supposed to be chilly. Reminder that our regional camp ministry has a wish list of items that it needs in order to have an awesome return season! We will collect any wish list items that you want to bring ...tomorrow morning! The list is pasted in the comments below. If you need more information, please contact Marilyn. Thanks so much for donating! If you are unable to be with us in person, this does not mean you cannot fellowship with us virtually! We will still be streaming via Zoom for anyone who needs to utilize this option. We hope to see everyone Sunday! Peace and blessings until then

Maundy Thursday is a holy moment in time for those who follow Jesus, particularly those of us called Disciples. Please join us tonight at 7PM as we gather online for a virtual service of reflection and remembrance. It promises to be an incredible experience and we’d love to see you there. https://zoom.us/j/8075877203

Reminder that we will not be having our midweek programming (Bible Study/Vespers) during Holy Week! As we traverse this final week of Jesus’ life on Earth, it may feel like just another week. The world continues to go by, we still have to go to work and school and run errands. It’s kind of routine, even though we call it holy. But as Pastor Richard reminded us this Sunday, that’s how the original Holy Week went. People got up, went to work and school and ran errands, all with...out suspecting that something world-changing was taking place. We’re taking a pause from our midweek programming this Holy Week to do some special observance (such as our Maundy Thursday service tomorrow) and we encourage you to take a pause from your routine as well. Remember the momentous events that took place for us so many years ago, meditate on Jesus’ life and death, and celebrate the resurrection with us soon.
