Life. Love. Legacy. #LifeLoveLegacy
Meet Mark LeRoux, the newly appointed Co-Director of Chaplaincy Program for our parent organization, Legacy Senior Living. Since 2019, he has served as chaplain to our sister community Legacy Village of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Alabama. In his new role, he will oversee ministerial support in our community and at 7 of our sister communities.
Wise words from one of the greatest leaders of all time. Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Our incredible dining services team takes care of the cooking so that our residents can relax! (By the way, if you're looking for us, we’ll be eating lunch!) #LifeLoveLegacy
Pet therapy with some of our residents and the Executive Director's buddy "Benji"
To the men and women who are serving or have served in law enforcement in any capacity, thank you for going the extra mile to keep our residents safe. #NationalLawEnforcementAppreciationDay
Creating a loving place seniors can call home is what makes our community special!
Did you know that we will welcome seniors into our newest Legacy Senior Living community next month in Wisconsin? This means our family will now consist of 15 different communities, and we think that is really neat! #NationalTriviaDay

Between all the different types of care facilities, how do you know which is best for your loved one? The first step in answering that question is nailing down what each type of care facility does and how they're different from each other. On our blog, we're doing a two-part series where we tackle that question and help you understand which type of community would be best for your aging loved one. Read Part One here:
Today, we're reminded to look to those who have come before us. Today and every day, may we always remember the message of Dr. King.
As we close in on Thanksgiving and start to look back on 2020, we can think of one word to describe how we're feeling: thankful.
Taking care of our residents and their families remains our top priority, and we will do all that we can to make this year the best yet for everyone in the Legacy Village family. We remain hopeful that this vaccine will bring us one step closer to reuniting our residents and families. We are thrilled to announce that COVID-19 vaccines will be available to our residents and team members starting today. Learn more about the roll-out here:
They have lived extraordinary lives, and our mission here is to celebrate all the things -- big and small -- that they have achieved. From serving in the military to raising children, we love sharing in the stories of our seniors who have celebrated over 100 birthdays! http://legacythomasville.pr.co/193797-legacy-village-at-pla
"Do not pick arguments. Do not make a parent feel defensive. Plant an idea, step back, and bring it up later. Be patient." As our loved ones age, it's natural to feel protective. It's also natural for our loved ones to have a desire to maintain control. This article dives into the complicated subject of how to navigate this journey together. https://bit.ly/2p0MOfn
Today, we remember Pearl Harbor. We honor the lives lost, the men and women who showed bravery and sacrifice, and those who continue to protect and serve our country almost 80 years later.
Cooking is one activity that can stimulate all five senses, so we love to try yummy new recipes with our residents. Here's one of our happy chefs posing with her latest creation -- cherry turnovers!
Raise your hand if you've started your holiday shopping! We loved this list of great gifts for grandparents that Good Housekeeping put together because it's full of items that let your loved one know you're thinking about them during a time of distancing. Our favorite? Long Distance Lamps: "Tap the lamp on your end, and the other one lights up, too, even if it's across the country." https://bit.ly/2J6RmAb
According to the CDC, physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health as a senior. Whether it's ping pong or a short walk, we make movement part of every day!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor!
