Finding this balance was a struggle for me. I wanted to maintain my humbled spirit but not at the expense of being taken for granted, disrespected, tried, and treated less than my worth. I had to learn that being humble didn't mean having to be submissive, passive, and quiet. While some view being humble as a strength, there are others who view it as a weakness. The word "confident" has seemingly become a bad thing in some cases, alluding to being cocky. But I view confide...nce as self assured, worthy, and powerful. Being humble does NOT mean that we make ourselves small and avoid embracing our true potential and purpose in life. Humble people don’t avoid these things, they know who they are and where they stand so they are able to move forward into possibility. They drop the worry and concern that they will be seen as someone living from a place of pride. They have confidence in the abilities they’ve been given and rise to the people they are meant to be. They do this without putting themselves above others. Humility is a strength, a positive force in the world. It is a way of being that helps move us, and the people we interact with, forward. Confidence, used in the right way, also has this ability to create a space that guides others into a better place of being. When we choose to be both, we can open up a world where we are absolutely able to achieve our goals and dreams and lead others to do the same. We know our worth and don’t step on people through the journey of life just to get what we want. When we practice Confident Humility, we remain open to learning, growing, gratitude, love and opening up the soul. See more

"Life's greatest gifts are on the other side of fear."- Will Smith Before COVID, I did indoor sky diving. I arrived a little ahead of time and watched some others go before me. I watched as some did acrobatic tricks in mid air while others seemed to struggle to stay a float. I was insecure and nervous that I would be one of those who struggled too. But nonetheless, I was the first in my group to go. Everyone was watching me. But somehow, I blocked out all of the fears, all of... the possible judgments, closed my eyes, put my feet to the edge, arms in the air, and waited for my sign to let go and trust what was coming next. ******************************************************* I noticed that: 1. Apparently, I always go first (I went first when doing zip lining as well.) 2. I move the same way in my businesses. There are many doors that I'm the first to go through, and although the judgment and fear of failing is always in the forefront, I go for it anyways and trust the process. 3. Going first shows my instinctual role as a leader. I've never viewed myself as one that "follows the lead," but creating my own path and not following paths that were predestined for me is somewhat like, my thing. ********************************************* I say all of this to say, sometimes going first is the best move to make. Going first helps reduce the build up of anxiety and fear. The more you wait to make that jump, the more you're in your head. Looking at everyone else go before you allows you to compare and criticize yourself and then you have a whole mind game added to your equation. ************************************************* My advice to you is to get out of your head, go first, make the leap in whatever it is you're hesitant/scared of doing, and trust the process! ************************************************* See more
