Wishing all of our students, teachers, friends, and families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope our students take some time to recharge during the break, and we will be ready to see our students and begin S2 on January 11th! Every student. Every day. Whatever it takes!
Congratulations to our Teacher and Staffulty of the Month for Nov/Dec! Mr. Collins is always a smile you can count on. He’s a valued part of Rambler Nation. Our teachers are working so hard to serve their students. Mrs. Rayburn is often the first smiling face people see when they arrive to LHS. She is always a ray of sunshine. We’re so glad she is at LHS.

From the Faculty and Staff of LaFayerte High School... to ALL LHS STUDENTS!
Even when the schedule changes. Whatever it Takes!
During November, we take a moment to think about the things for which we have enormous gratitude. There is SO much to be thankful for at LaFayette High School! Everyone who works in a school puts countless time and energy towards helping students get to the finish line. We continue to be grateful for all of our students as they strive to make an impact on the world around them. Think about your own educational career. Which teacher or staff member are you THANKFUL for? Who helped you feel valued or connected throughout your school years?
Congratulations to our Jostens Renaissance Teacher of the Month and Staffulty Member of the Month for October. We’re proud to have Mrs. Cindy Langford and Mrs. Gwen Gregory as vital parts of our school. Rambler Nation is better because they are here!

ORANGE and BLACK Day! We loooooovvvee our Ramblers! (Thanks to Tasty Donuts for the treats today.)
Our September Staffulty of the Month was Mr. Josh James! In line with oue theme this year, we asked what he believed WHATEVER IT TAKES means as it relates to Rambler Nation. For me, "Whatever It Takes" means making a commitment to the students and staff in helping make LHS a great place to work and learn everyday. Being an LHS alum, I take great pride in representing the orange and black to the best of my ability each day, both in the classroom and outside the classroom. That means giving A+ effort in everything I do, and always lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it. And while I am honored to be recognized as the Staffulty member of the month this month, I believe I am just a small part of a faculty and staff that will do Whatever It Takes for every student, everyday to make Rambler Nation a special place to be."
As we prepare for the upcoming week, let’s talk about commitment. What are the things that you are committed to? Let’s maintain commitment to our valuesas a student, as a school, and as a community:... A commitment to self, A commitment to each other, A commitment to our dreams, A commitment to a great day, And a commitment to an even better tomorrow!
Help us wish a very Happy Birthday to one of our Renaissance Captains, Mrs. Julie Lambert!
Congratulations to our Activity Students of the Month! These students are chosen because of their outstanding participation in extra-curricular activities. Way to go, Skylar Eaton and Joey Gilbert! Skylar says, "To me, being #RamblerReady means saying you’re a Rambler and supporting your school. Being active in school activities is important. Most of all, wearing the Rambler name with PRIDE is important."
Congratulations to our 12th Grade Leaders who were named Student of the Month for September! Way to go, Kaylee Howard and Ben Maanum! Kaylee says, "I am LaFayette High School has made me Rambler Ready for many different reasons. LaFayette has provided me with many opportunities for student involvement. For example, I am involved in helping to plan Homecoming, I am able to help build our class Homecoming float, and I am a member of the Beta Club. Also, I have had the opportunity to take rigorous classes that have helped prepare me for college. I am #RamblerReady!"
Congratulations to our 11th Grade Students of the Month, Shelby Coker and Jason Cagle. Shelby says, "I am #RamblerReady because I am in the band, and I love to support our school with all that I have!"
Congratulations to our 9th Grade Students of the Month, Sydney Kruger and Dylan Brown! Dylan says, "I am #RamblerReady because I’m always prepared and my teachers are always prepared to teach me. I am always here and ready to learn by making sure I get my work done on time. It may seem corny, but all you really need to do is be prepared and ready to learn. A good attitude will go a long way."

tradition /trdiSH()n/ Definition: the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.... The word Tradition is important for LHS. Generations of students have received a diploma with the school crest, both with and without the sketch of Marquis de Lafayette. We know General Lafayette historically because he helped our country during the Revolutionary War. But he became known for his loyalty, his consistency of character, and for his philanthropy. Let that sink in. Let it remind us who we areand who we have been and who we will become. Despite being a different year, we are working hard to make sure that traditions continue - Especially character, connectedness, and hard work. Whether your cheers are Orange Crush!, Orange and Black!, Here we go Ramblers!, Rev it Up!, or even Rambler Ready!, take a moment to celebrate and appreciate the idea of tradition. We find peace in the idea that our past experiences build us up to have a stronger future!

You CAN achieve greatness!
Big thanks to McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Sonic for helping kick off the school year for teachers with breakfast! We appreciate your partnership.
We are excited to be continuing THE COMEBACK KID AWARD! The idea is to reward students who have shown significant improvement in an area or who have overcome adversity. Last year, we were able to have pizza each month with the student from each Pit Crew who was chosen for his or her accomplishment. This year, we will be creative with the incentive and will be looking for gift certificates to local restaurants for these students. BIG THANKS to Liberty Tax of LaFayette and Ch...ris Davis Real Estate Partners for sponsoring a Comeback Kid event last year. If your business would like to sponsor a Comeback Kid event for this school year, please email [email protected].
LaFayette High School is fortunate to have some amazing people who help make up the STAFFULTY. This is a Jostens Renaissance term, but its meaning is simple. These are our heroes who help to make the school run smoothly. Our cafeteria workers, custodians, clerical staff, and paraprofessionals are truly top notch. And they are a vital part of our schoolEvery Student. Every Day. Whatever It Takes! And next week, they’ll be able to show how they are... RAMBLER READY!
This year, there may be a different sense of community, but there will certainly be the same sense of purpose as before. We move forward...unlocking the potential in Every Student, Every Day, Whatever it Takes!
Be the reason.
While we look to the future boldly, it’s important that we take a moment to remember the idea of tradition. Our future is strong because of the Ramblers who came before us. Generations of LaFayette High School students have worked hard to provide a rich history for our school. Traditions bring meaning to our successes and they help bond us to our mission and to our Rambler Nation family. Over fifty years have passed since the picture below was taken. Here’s to another fifty ...years and more of Rambler traditions! Studentsremember that YOU have a seat in the Rambler car. And you help to keep it moving forward! LHS alumni, what were some of your favorite Rambler traditions? (Photo credit to D. Hix and R. Littlefield)

The goal of our program is to help contribute to the positive culture and climate that is LaFayette High School - a positive place to learn, to work, and to serve. We want to BE THE LIGHT for our school and for our surrounding community!
