Something to ponder Facebook friends; If you want to be happier, you MUST stop the comparison game! Why? Because comparison is the GATEWAY to unhappiness. Unhappiness manifests when we compare our current situation, physical appearance, emotional state, financial success, spiritual life, or anything else to another time in our own lives or someone else's life.... Everything that brings you unhappiness comes from an internal comparison that you are subconsciously making. When you're scrolling through social media seeing all the amazing things people are doing, it's not what they're doing that can make you unhappy, it's the COMPARISON of what they're doing to what you're doing that creates unhappiness. If you are unhappy with your body, it is in COMPARISON to how your body may have looked in the past OR in comparison with someone else's body that's making you unhappy. Even in the most extreme scenarios like losing a loved one, your grief is derived from COMPARING your current reality to the memories you have with that loved one. And get this, when there is no comparison, there is no unhappiness! Don't get me wrong. There is no "cure" for unhappiness. We will ALL experience it. But you CAN make a conscious effort to not let unhappiness overwhelm you by remembering that COMPARISON is the root of that unhappiness. Identify it and STOP the comparison. ACCEPT that you can't go back to a previous time. ACCEPT that you can't live someone else's life. ACCEPT that you won't get that dream body today... And START EMBRACING this moment! START EMBRACING THIS time! It is not the external conditions of your life, but GRATITUDE for this very moment that creates happiness. See more
