Hello everyone, I hope this post finds you all well, and Covid free. I know it has been a while since I last posted, but between Covid, and trying to keep thing...s going for myself financially, time has been precious. It has been a crazy year, and it’s hard to believe it has been a year since the first shelter in place order from Governor Kemp here in Georgia. In spite of the Covid pandemic, Bright Hope Orphanage is still doing well. We had to put our exit strategy on hold while the country of Uganda shut down during Covid, however, we are getting back on track. The kids are doing well and they are well fed because you continue to give support to them monthly. It is amazing how far $20.00 USD can go in a country like Uganda. The children’s health, education, and well being is the top priority of the sponsorship program. The chicken house project continues to be a staple in the day to day life of Bright Hope. The kids learn a skill they can use, as well as supply food for themselves, and the other children. The children also market and sell the chickens to local Ugandans for food. The farmers cooperative in still in place and trying to thrive. We will need to address the issue of purchasing a tractor soon, but for now they are doing the best they can with hand tools, and renting a tractor when they can. The mill is running strong, although it too suffered the impact of Covid. They are maintaining their loan agreement terms as best they can, and we hope for a better harvest season coming up. The micro finance program has struggled due to Covid. However, we are hopeful it will be back on track soon. Chuck and I plan to go to Uganda soon and start getting things back on track with the leadership there. Thank you so much for you continued support during these hard times.
