Extreme daytime sleepiness (also known as hypersomnia) Sore throat or dry mouth in the morning Shortness of breath causing the person to awaken abruptly Insomnia (difficulty staying asleep) Headaches upon awakening Call Northeast Georgia ENT at 770-536-4352 for an evaluation.

Recovering from a Tonsillectomy: Typically, patients are able to go home the day of the surgery. That's why our Limestone Surgery Center is a great choice for this procedure. Post op, patients often experience pain in the throat, ears, jaw or neck. Throughout recovery, be sure to take the recommended pain medication and antibiotics prescribed by your doctor. Drink plenty of water and eat easy-to-swallow foods for the first few days after surgery. Avoid spicy, hot or coarse foods. Eating popsicles can sooth pain and provide fluids.
When to Consider Sinus Surgery? Only when this comprehensive treatment has failed on multiple occasions, should sinus surgery be addressed. At that time, the patient and otolaryngologist can have an in-depth discussion on the risks and benefits of endoscopic sinus surgery, and whether it is a good option for that patient. As well, in-office balloon sinuplasty may be an option to correct this disorder. Call Northeast Georgia ENT at 770-536-4352 to schedule an appointment.

Head and Neck Cancer Treatment These cancers can be quite dangerous, but many can be cured. In general, patients with larger cancers with lymph node involvement at the time of diagnosis, have a poorer chance for cure than those with smaller cancers and no lymph node involvement. Therefore, early detection of these cancers is important. Treatment options consist of surgery, radiation, or a combination of surgery and radiation. Chemotherapy is often used in conjunction with radiation, but not as a primary treatment by itself. As with other cancers, many head and neck cancers could be prevented by not using tobacco products and not overindulging in alcohol.

At that time, the patient and otolaryngologist can have an in-depth discussion on the risks and benefits of endoscopic sinus surgery, and whether it is a good option for that patient. As well, in-office balloon sinuplasty may be an option to correct this disorder.
