Dear Program Administrators, The attached documents are the Georgia Closeout Campaign materials for use at your centers and in your communities. We have changed the GEDTS materials slightly to place the primary focus on the need to finish the GED test due to the end of the current test series. Georgia has 30,000 GED test takers who started the GED test since 2010 but have not completed or been unsuccessful on the test. We would like to create a blitz to get the attention o...f those test takers. The TCSG GED testing office will send each of the 30,000 test takers a mailer (see GA GED Closeout Flyer 3.5.13.pdf) during April and will send the names of the students associated with each test center to the Chief Examiner. Any test taker follow-up provided by the local program will be encouraged. We are anxious to get as many local press releases, PSA announcements and flyers out in the community as possible as they are all critical in our attempt to get the word to Georgia residents. Informing the public of the end of this GED series test is a daunting task and we are going to need the collaborative help of all the literacy providers and supporters in Georgia. Thanks for all your support to this effort. - Beverly Beverly E. Smith, M.Ed.
