UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to this effort to help our friend Andrew and to all of you who have shared it with others and kept Andrew in your thoughts. It is going to make a huge difference for him in these coming months. Andrew wanted me to tell y'all how grateful he is for your generosity. He is truly touched by each of you and all your thoughts and good vibes. Andrew underwent a 6-hour long surgery last week that extracted a large (bigger than... a lemon) tumor from his colon, repaired damage to the intestines and cleared the blockage caused by the mass that had him in so much pain. This was a great relief to him, and we saw that signature big ass grin return. Unfortunately, it was confirmed that the mass was malignant, and several other smaller masses were also discovered in the process. Andrew is home now recovering. His mom was able to get here from California to be with him. We're working behind the scenes to help Andrew get set up and strengthened to do battle against this cancer. Your donations will help to cover his existing medical bills (that will surely be in the tens of thousands), plus get his living expenses covered while he goes through treatment and can't work. We're raising the goal here to do as much as we possibly can for him. With your help and the community holding him up in love, Andrew is going to kick this cancer's ass and be back gracing us all with that big grin soon. ******************************************************** Our pal and one of the creative forces at The National is in need of a little community support.
