Don't forget! Act I of The Nutcracker will be performed at Lockerly in Lights this Saturday, December 5, between 6pm and 7pm! You will be able to view the performance from several vantage points as you drive through the lights. We ask that guests do not try to stop, get out of your vehicle or otherwise back up traffic. If you would like to go through the lights more than once during the evening, you will need to pay the $10 entrance fee each time. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you!

Happy National Mistletoe Day!!! Mistletoe is the common name for hemiparasitic plants that attach to their host tree or shrub and extract water and nutrients from them. Mistletoe spreads and grows relatively slowly and is rarely considered an immediate threat to tree health. Healthy trees are able to tolerate a few mistletoe plants with little harmful effect. It is tremendously valuable to wildlife, particularly birds and insects. For most property owners, the presence of mistletoe should be considered a sign of a diverse ecosystem.

Doing one or more of these can kill the trees we all value, plus it’s expensive to remove and clean up a dead tree. #eatsleeptrees
