It is ALMOST that time of the year! Please note, Tax season will not begin this year until Feb. 12 (yes I’m as bummed about it as you are). A few other things to note: Due to COVID-19, I am working by appointments only, NO WALK INS. Also, in accordance with the CDC guidelines, you must wear a mask to enter the office; disposable masks will be available. Last year I had a large number of people show up to file taxes with out their tax documents. Please be considerate of my tim...e and others by NOT scheduling an appointment until you have All of your needed documents. Thank you to so many of you for the awesome referrals, you guys ROCK! But sadly I am not taking any new clients this year other than the ones who I’ve already committed to and of course my returning clientele. Virtual appointments will be available if desired. Okay y’all! 4 more hours already today of these calls, I DO NOT PLAN ON SUFFERING through 12 more hrs of this today, so here’s the deal: if you haven’t received your stimulus check yet, it is because you either owed tax in 2018 and/or 2019 and do not have direct deposit on file; or you are behind in your filings and 2018 and/or 2019 is NOT filed; or 2019 is filed but was just filed or was problematic and has NOT processed yet; or you are an SS or Retirement Recipient! I kno...w you all think EVERYONE has gotten their stimulus already except for YOU! and that YOU have been left out or forgotten but this is NOT the deal. There are so many people looking for their stimulus right now that the system is bogging down. YET AGAIN! They have created a web data base for you. However, it can NOT handle everyone at once. > I know y’all think it’s magical and just a press of a button, but It’s NOT! > People will be allowed to enter their Information in Groups. The only Group that can successfully upload their info right now, are those who filed their 2019 taxes THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN PROCESSED, that didn’t have direct deposit info on file and NON FILERS! People who owed taxes or do NOT have direct deposit on file for 2018 and have not filed 2019 taxes or 2019 is NOT PROCESSED yet, you are in a DIFF GROUP that is not eligible to upload your info yet. Try back MONDAY..... And Please People, remember how everyone panicked and hoarded Toilet Tissue!?! That’s still causing issues. Panicking because your stimulus wasn’t first and trying to force the system is only making matters worse and causing your wait time to increase. Seriously, bank systems were overload yesterday and this new data base is overloaded today and it’s only the second day it’s been up. I know it’s not fair and it’s know it’s not what you want to hear but there is a system for everything! I don’t make the rules and I can’t change them so please quit blowing me up!!! Beginning Tuesday, March 24th, there will be no in-person appointments; However, I will be conducting appointments via telephone, email and U.S. Postal Service. If for any reason(s) you are unable to submit your documents and required paperwork via these sources, there is a large Dropbox slot at the ...office that is available to you. Please note contact hours are 8:30am-6:00pm. Social Distancing.... I worked my first tele-appointment today from start to finish. It was an excellent experience, better than I expected. I’m all about this 6’ distance myself and have been working self employment and corporate returns without the client being present for years. I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! I am praying for a successful and prosperous year for us all! Here are a few updates for the 2020-2019 Tax Season. -The IRS announced Mon. that Tax Season will open on Jan 27, 2020. However, if a return receives EIC (Earned Income) and/or Child Tax Credits, those refunds will not be released until late February. -Because I have a huge work load with Jan 31st deadlines for my faithful bookkeeping accounts, I ...will not begin processing returns until Feb 01. But I do feel confident that I will still successfully meet everyone of your needs and expectations! -Just so there are no surprises, there will be a price increase this year. Sadly, the software providers and filing fees increase every year, usually a small increase but this year it is even larger. I’ve never passed off the efile fee in the past, if you have ever seen this fee on your invoice, there has always been a discount provided for it. NOT this year, Sorry! -Because of the amount of bad debt that I experience, this year payment is due when services are rendered UNLESS you have an ACH (Electronic Check) Authorization Form on file for a post-dated date! -Last but not least, all unpaid invoices from 2019 will have to be paid in full before I can process your current tax return. Although many tax offices are already processing tax returns, the IRS will not accept those returns until Jan 28.
