So in today's MSVT-2020 Race Car Prep and Testing class we wanted to dispell some misconsceptions about lateral weight transfer. 1.) More roll transfers more load and so develps more cornering force - WRONG! 2.) Less roll doesn't transfer as much load thereby developing more cornering force - WRONG! The lateral load is transfering regardless of your spring, shock, sway bar combination. Those items impact the finite amount of time it takes for the load to transfer and t...herefore the driver's perception of what the car is doing and how responsive it is. This asymetric racing Kart is a great example. WIth no springs, shocks or swaybars in the equation you can still very much feel the lateral load transfer. If you go fast enough you can even get 100% and end up on two wheels! The asymetric set up also allowed the students to experience the radically different feel turning one direction vs. the other on the figure 8 course. #laniertechnicalcollege #motorsports See more

There were a bunc h of graduates/alumni on teams as well so if you were one of them, send us a note or pic!

A big thank you to the the HSR for hosting our Intro to Motorsports students for the Fall Historics. All of the teams were so gracious with their time and answering questions. Where else can you be looking at an MG Midget race car one minute, then a Puegeot 908 Diesel LMP car the next! It never get's old poking around an Audi R8 either! #HSR

If you want to see some fun, local, 4 cylinder dirt car racing, follow The Henry Boys on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxJMcFeCbJ62ri0v3bMbdQA Alton Henry is an MVT Student who is currently finishing his last semester before graduating with his MVT Degree. Dirt track racing can be just like Drifting, only with more cars on track and longer continous action!

A shout out of thanks to Scott Lampkin with Dynapack International for helping us update our Dynapack Dynamometer. Software update is complete. Once we receive the OBD dongle update, we'll be ready to plug and play.
