It's that time of year again - we are selling rubber ducks for the Annual Duck Race. For $5, you can adopt a duck and enter to win $1,026 in cash! On October 31st, all ducks will race down Beaver Creek in Montezuma. The winner will receive $1,026 in cash! The next 10 winners will also receive great prizes. The official prize list comes out soon and we will share that with you then. All proceeds go to the Macon County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund and other community efforts. You do not have to be present to win. You can purchase your duck from the Chamber, any board member and many local businesses. Thank you for your support! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Did you know Georgia is at risk of losing millions of dollars over the next ten years? If we don't act now, we could lose desperately needed funding for vital programs such as Medicare, food assistance programs, children’s healthcare and so much more. So, ACT NOW (BEFORE September 30th!!) and respond to the 2020 Census online at my2020census.gov or by calling 1-844-330-2020. It's safe, it's fast and it's important.

Georgia is falling behind in the census count. We are 47th out of 50 states in our response rate for the census Billions of dollars are on the line and Oglethorpe, Montezuma, Ideal and Marshallville -- and ALL of Macon County -- stands to lose MILLIONS OF DOLLARS over the next 10 years for education, healthcare, roads and so much more if residents in our community don’t participate. This is SO incredibly important that you register ASAP! Respond today at my2020census.gov ...or by calling 1-844-330-2020. You can easily register at one of our libraries in Macon County. They're open and ready for you!
Congratulations on winning a $50 gift certificate to Natalie Bradley Home, Sabrina Smith!
Please make sure you register for the census ASAP! We don't get what we need for our citizens if we aren't counted. Our libraries are here to help, go register at one of our libraries. They will be ready for you!
Please share and help spread the word! We hope you'll join us next week for the Grand Opening! We are super excited for our Chamber board member Natalie Bradley! Congratulations!!!
Please SHARE and BE COUNTED!! If you are passionate about this community, we also need you to be passionate about registering for the census. When you register for the census, it provides much needed funding for our city and county in ways that our children need it the most. If you don't get counted, we won't receive the benefits we desperately need from the federal government. We must be counted. Every. Single. One. ... We need you to show up and be counted. Online: https://www.2020census.gov/ and click on the ‘REPOND’ button at the top of the page. By Phone: 844-330-2020 (ENGLISH) or 844-468-2020 (SPANISH).
Citizens of Macon County, we desperately need your help. This is another appeal to seek your help in trying to get our 2020 Census numbers up.... The Census Bureau has recently moved the deadline date up from October 31, 2020, to September 30, 2020. This means we have less than 50 days left for residents to submit their response. Current local rates are as follows: Macon County 39.3% Ideal 25.8% Marshallville 32.5% Montezuma 51.2% Oglethorpe 34.7%. IF WE FAIL TO GET EVERYONE COUNTED, EVERY COUNTY RESIDENT WILL BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED FOR A DECADE OF FEDERAL FUNDING AND OTHER CRITICAL PURPOSES! Many factors have contributed to our low response rate- census field operation delays, cancellations of public events, lack of access to public computers and hotspots, delays in distributing census packets to rural residents without post office addresses, and lack of media focus due to COVID 19. We need you to show up and be counted. Online: https://www.2020census.gov/ and click on the ‘REPOND’ button at the top of the page. By Phone: 844-330-2020 (ENGLISH) or 844-468-2020 (SPANISH). #CovidCantStopTheCount #ShowUp #BeCounted **share and spread the word!!**
