Here is the General Safety Guidelines for Morgan County Magistrate Court. Trials are going to resume on June 17, 2020 and these guidelines will be enforced. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact the Magistrate Courts Office at 706-342-3088. I appreciate your patience during this pandemic.
Please find below the order continuing all civil and criminal hearings in the Magistrate Court until after June 12, 2020 due to the COVID 19 Virus. If you need to speak with anyone in the office please call 706-342-3088 , if you need to speak to some one in person, please call to schedule an appointment.
Preliminary hearing that was scheduled for April 16th, tomorrow, were rescheduled due to the Supreme COURT Justices order , suspending court hearings due to Covid-19 virus. The Chief Justice extended the order through May 13th. All court dates have been cancelled until after May 13th. Should you have any questions, please contact the court. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
The Morgan County Magistrate Court will be closed for Good Friday on April 10, 2020. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Easter.
Please see the order below from our Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Melton. The order extends the Statewide Judicial Emergency created by the Covid-19. This means that the doors of the MAGISTRATE COURT will remain closed to the public and hearings and trials will be continued until further notice. However, 1st appearance and bond hearings will continue to be held by video conferencing. You may continue to contact the court at 706-342-3088 if you have any qu...estions or need assistance. If you would like to file a civil case you may file by EFiling or file by mail. Please see the county web site for forms and EFiling information and the court address.
