City offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27, 2020 in observance of Thanksgiving. Solid waste pickup services will be delayed by one day for customers normally served on Thursdays and Fridays. Thursday customers will be served on Friday, and Friday customers will be served on Saturday.

Due to concerns over the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the State of Georgia, Fayetteville’s Christmas on Main Street has been canceled for 2020, including the parade, tree lighting, and visits with Santa. The event had been scheduled for Saturday, December 5. Safety measures had been incorporated into the event planning, but City Manager Ray Gibson said Wednesday afternoon the City leadership expressed concerns over continuing with the event due to escalating COVID-19 cases.

Join us at the Brightmoor-Southern Ground Amphitheater tomorrow for the Fayette County 9-11 Tribute. The program starts at 6, but come early (5 p.m.) to enjoy barbecue and hot dogs from the Rick's Ribs food truck, see public safety vehicles and other static displays, plus the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation's Huey and Cobra helicopters.
