Manchester Fire Captain Williams and Chief Jolivette got more than they bargained for $32,000 of Narcan". Jolivette tasked Williams with coming up with a plan to get Narcan to assist patients with opioid overdoses. Williams contact the (DBHDD) Department of Behavioral Health and Development. DBHDD stated they had a training program for faith base and first responders. The 7 hour training program assured each participant 2 doses of Narcan. Manchester made it mandatory for full-time fire personnel. However, we received a shipment of Narcan which came to more doses than expected. MFD goal is focused on education and prevention. MFD is reached out to other organizations to see if they are willing to participate in this life saving campaign.
