So far this week I have given away several computers that would of ended up on my shelf till to old to do anything with and ended up in the land field. Several... remote children now have a way to connect. I still have some more computers I can fix up but out of monitors at this point. As a reminder tech support is free this week or whenever if it is for a system that children are using for their education. As many people are aware Governor Kemp has lifted a big majority of the stay at home order starting this week. As I eager to jump back in and continue working service calls and get away from the massive Honey-Do list that I have been subject to while staying at home, I have decided to move slowly on the side of caution, having a child that has Asphema and considering that many of my clients are in the susceptible to have major issues if the virus spreads I do not want to be a factor in causing anyone to get sick or getting sick myself. I will continue to offer free phone support for Churches and Students needing to get their school work done using technology.

Attention Web Designers: With easter 13 days away I am asking all web designers to go online find mini easter eggs and hide them on your websites. Kids can not group together and find eggs due to the Covid-19 virus but they can search their favourite websites and count ho many they can find. Even make at least one egg clickable and have it as a prize egg. Maybe hot-linked to a drawing they can download and colour or something. Stay home, stay safe,& remember if you are a student and have a tech question drop us a message we are giving out free tech support for those that are stuck at home and need to get lessons done during all of this.

With a lot of sick people out there and more getting sick your computers, tablets, laptops could be your main contact with the outside world. If your computer breaks down, (gets a virus) or has other issues no matter where you are in the world most of you have to take it apart, load it up, take it to a repair center to get fixed. I suggest everyone download Team Viewer or any other remote software like remote in google chrome for example. That way if you want your systems ...worked on it can be done without anyone having to come in or move it from one location to another. My remote rate will be $40.00 per system, cash app, or paypal and this starts now, so anywhere you are in the world if you need computer help and cannot leave your homes you have me for support. All you do is pay $20 up front and we will schedule a time and I will walk you through how to give me access. After your computer is completed the additional $20 is due, yes that will be on the trust system (i will also take tips). If your system is too far gone and I can not log into your system and fix it remotely I will reimburse your $20.00 - most locations you can not even get that rate even when there is no pandemic. People in this world can be pure evil. I was on one of my last service calls today when I got a call from a lady in our county. Some there was a pop up on her computer to call a number about her computer. She called this number and after a few hours of them going through her files they told her it would be almost $700 to fix. Now obviously this is a scam but this is actually the second part of the scam. It seams that a few weeks ago someone called her on the phone saying... she needed her antivirus renewed. She let them install I guess remotely but they charged her $500. First off there are several FREE antivirus out there (Avast, AVG, Etc, I use Windows security that is free with windows 10 right from Microsoft) Second never call tech support that wants to charge you over the phone or take control of your computer with out knowing them personally. Be it myself or any local computer shops in the 30-50 mile area, someone you can confront face to face. These scammers use a burner phone and they mask the phone number, they are not legit. And popups saying that you are infected or that they are Microsoft is also a scam. Windows 7 updates and support will end in little less than 7 months. Now is the best time to plan your next step. Moving to Windows 10 is the main option. If you have a windows 7 OEM number on the side of your computer you can actually use that key to install windows 10 with since it works with the win 10 reg server (just not sure for how long this will happen) but this requires backing up your system and a fresh install of windows 10. Windows 10 and Windows 10 upgrade c...an range around $110 - $150 - But you can find them from Over Seas on E-Bay for around $10.00 - Even though they will work and there will not be a registration pop up on your system this is not the legal legit option to go. Another option is if you are sick of windows Linux has some good OS options. I suggest if you want to give Linux a try you use Linux Mint because the GUI looks and feels like windows. To do a backup and fresh install of Windows 10 will be $55.00 for local residents If no backup is required $35.00 - Multi-System Discounts available also. Any Harris / Talbot / Lee County residents that had their computers destroyed in the storms this past week can bring the system to us and we will try to recover your pictures and data for free and put them on DVD's or other media for you .

Recycle day is November 15th - Remember I recycle old computers, game systems, & cell phones to try and repair for those that need them ...

RIP AOL Messenger: AOL Messenger will be shut down in December

Do you own your website? Do you have someone else running it? If so is the domain really in your name if something happens to that person? Not saying your website designer is a bad person and will take/hold your domain hostage but what happens if this person passes away? You could be with out your very own website. I suggest anyone that has a website to check this like https://www.godaddy.com/whois and type in your domain name here to see who really owns it. I even admit some sites I run for other clients I have myself as Registrant, Administrative, Technical, & Billing contact .. Registrant should be your name (the owner of the site) -- if I run your domain name you will probably receive an E-Mail in the following days as I make sure this is fixed on my own clients sites.
