My first blonde transition of 2021! You know what that means? Spring is around the corner! I can usually tell a season change by what my books look like. Cooler seasons...it’s all over base colors and lowlights. Darker tones! Warmer seasons...balayage and highlights. Blondes! It’s all totally fine with me! It’s what keeps me from becoming stagnant as a stylist. During the fall, I took her to a deep brunette, leaving out a few existing blonde pieces for dimension. It had faded, so today I did a balayage on her! I love her nicely her hair lifts! Makes me job so much easier! @ Beauties and Beasts Hair Co.

I still love when people ask for red hair, even when it’s not fall! Besides Valentine’s Day is around the corner...so this is festive right? Just kidding...you don’t need a reason to go red! So she already has a natural copper tone to her hair, so why not accentuate it?! I did a red-copper demi-permanent color using #redkenshadeseq on her thick gorgeous hair, and theeeen...added curtain bangs! Guys look at the difference between those before and after pictures! Those bangs just add an instant lift to her hair!

If you checked out my last post...these are two teen sisters that I had the privilege of balayaging their hair for the first time! I loved getting to hang out with them today, and transform their hair! Balayage is the perfect hair color for a first timer, because it grows out without harsh lines, and it can be subtle. Plus, it’s super low maintenance! Anytime I have a parent ask me about having their daughters hair colored for the first time...this is usually my go-to!

Doing color on hair that has never been altered is like a hairstylists dream! A blank canvas! I did a little balayaging on this blank canvas today! Is this not gorgeous or what?

Small businesses have definitely been negatively impacted this year, including this industry! All of my fellow Cosmetologist can agree that this industry has been hit hard this year. Being shut down for over a month with some salons not even financially able to open back up. Once salons reopened, then began the constant cancellations. Not knowing if your booked week will turn out to be the slowest week yet. Even us as stylist having to cancel appointments, due to personal wel...lness, and scared to pass on sickness. If you are a client that has stuck with your stylist, even through all of this, you are the real MVP! You are what has made us make it through this year! You’re support is keeping us stylists afloat! I specifically want to thank my amazing clients for hanging with me, through schedule changes, and transferring to 3 different salons. It has, by far, been the most inconsistent year I have ever had in my years of doing hair. I have been in such a negative mindset, especially the past few months. I’m working on flipping that mindset, and I truly hope that 2021 is a better year, and look forward to continuing seeing all of your beautiful faces in 2021! Happy New Years guys!
