Wishing everyone who is a Dad or has a Dad to have a special day on Father's Day.

Today, I am thinking about those who fought for our freedom and safety as a nation and as individuals. I am so grateful for the bravery men and women have shown in their service as well as in the way they lived their lives. May we all be worthy of the sacrifices made for us.

Yesterday I was named 2018 Rookie of the Year for Harry Norman Realtors - North Fulton. I did not achieve this honor alone. Many friends trusted me to represent them with their Real Estate transaction and I am so grateful to them.

As Christmas draws near I can't help but think about Mom. She always had the kitchen smelling of cinnamon and baked goods. One thing I still make from her collection is Spiced Tea. You might like it as well... Spiced Tea 1 cup instant tea 1 cup Half tea/Half Lemonade 1 cup Tang... 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 tsp. ground cloves 1/2 tsp. ground ginger 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg Mix all ingredients well and keep in an airtight container. Serve by the cup. 2-3 Tablespoons to one cup of hot water. Makes great gifts. See more

I remember my first concert -- The Carpenters. I went with my good friend Herb Johnston. I think about it now because of their hit song, "Rainy days and Mondays"...always get me down. Well, it's Tuesday and still rainy. How to turn all this rain to good? There is no better time to check the house for leaks! We never want to find leaks but if we find them early enough we can head off future damage and repairs. Hard consistent rain can reveal more than light occasional show...ers. For instance, if you have varying roof lines you may have a valley that doesn't drain well--especially if debris collects in that valley. Backed up water can find its way under shingles and into the house. Also, don't forget to check the basement for water intrusion. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
