It’s not often that you get to see things from the perspective of a U.S. Army paratrooper. Here’s a peek at what it’s like to jump from a plane over Fort Bragg, N.C.. #KnowYourMil

In case you missed it... 73 years ago, yesterday, Lt. Audie Murphy was presented with the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during WWII. While commanding ...his Bravo Company, which was under attack by several enemy tanks and numerous infantrymen near Holzwihr, France, then 2nd Lt. Murphy ordered his men to withdraw and prepared positions in the woods. He alone remained forward at his command post and continued to give fire directions to the artillery by telephone. Nearby one of his tank destroyers was hit and caught fire. With the enemy tanks abreast of his position, Murphy climbed on the burning tank destroyer, which was in danger of blowing up at any moment, and employed its .50 caliber machine gun against the enemy. He was alone and exposed to German fire from three sides, but his deadly fire killed dozens of Germans and caused their attack to waver. To read more about the brave actions of Lt. Audie Murphy, the most decorated Soldier of WWII and an outstanding Dogface Soldier, visit: http://www.stewart.army.mil/index/about/history/medal-honor #ROTM #3ID #AUDIEMURPHY #MOH #WWII #DOGFACESOLDIER 3rd Infantry Division 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion 3rd Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division HHC, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3ID 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division 1-41 FA, Divarty, 3rd ID 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division (3 CAB, 3 ID) Attack Company, Task Force 1-28 Infantry Medal of Honor

Soldiers from the 2nd ID #Second2None and the 3rd ID #ROTM conducted educational tours today of the Meuse-Argonne battlefield led by CMH Historian and education...al director Dr. Peter Knight. They visited the Montfaucon Monument, dedicated to all U.S. forces who fought in the Meuse-Argonne campaign. This was also the site of a German key position and stronghold and a major objective on the first day of battle. Part of the destroyed French village and German bunkers are still there. #Armyhistory #WWI100 See more
