MPD would like to give a warm welcome to our newest addition, Ofc. Phifer! We are glad that she decided to join our team!

Cpl. Newson and Ofcs. Murphy, Mauritzen and Johnson received commendations after safely arresting an assault suspect who was armed with a weapon. When the suspect led them on a foot pursuit, they worked together as a team to track him down and take him into custody.

Federal mandate requires face masks to be worn on MARTA property at all times, including inside stations, buses, trains, and streetcars. Here are some of our K9 Officers on patrol to enforce the mask mandate with their four-legged partners!

Due to track replacement work, BUSES WILL REPLACE TRAINS on the Red & Gold Lines between Lindbergh, Buckhead, & Lenox Stations beginning at 9pm Tues. 2/16 through the end of service Sun. 2/21. MPD Officers and Protective Specialists will be located at the Lindbergh, Buckhead, and Lenox stations to help patrons reach their destinations

Cpl. Jones and Ofc. Birch received praise from a patron for their actions after they responded to a crime that was reported using our See & Say App. The patron stated that their immediate response and removal of the subject from the train was greatly appreciated. Way to go!

Sgt. Story and Ofc. Chardon performed chest compressions on an unresponsive patron at Five Points. Ofc. Rucker retrieved an AED, and they continued to provide first aid until the patron could be transported to the hospital. MPD commends them for their lifesaving efforts!

Ofc. Barden recieved a commendation for identifying and contributing to the safe arrest of a suspect who was wanted for robbery. A dangerous criminal is off the streets thanks to her attention to detail. Great job Ofc. Barden!

Corporal Phillips contributed to the safe arrest of a dangerous suspect who was involved in a shooting incident in the Downtown Atlanta area. Cpl. Phillips used his vehicle to block the path the suspect was using to flee from officers. Great job Cpl.!

Detective Garmon, K-9 Ofc. Jenkins, and Ofc. Dennis assisted APD during a foot chase with a suspect wanted for aggravated assault. After they safely arrested the suspect, they also recovered a firearm that he threw in the bushes during the chase. Great job!

Working in MPD's Property and Evidence Unit can be tough! Officer Williams took on the daunting task of rearranging our large trailer full of property in the sweltering Atlanta heat. Ofc. Williams we appreciate you for your self-motivation and a job well done!

MPD is recognizing PS Moore, Ofc. Allen, and Ofc. Wofford for working together to arrest a suspect wanted for vandalism. PS Moore identified the subject and gave updates of his location, which resulted in Ofcs. Allen and Wofford safely taking him into custody. Great job Team!

MPD would like to recognize Ofc. Powell for safely arresting a suspect who was engaged in a fight AND armed with a weapon. Ofc. Powell was able to safely take the suspect into custody after a brief foot chase. Great job Ofc. Powell!
