‘Wendzalea’, the first successful hybrid cross with the continuous-blooming Camellia azalea species discovered in China. Valdosta, Georgia hybridizer Hulyn Smit...h obtained 100 rooted cuttings of C. azalea in 2001, but discovered that the species does not do well on its own roots. Smith applied C. azalea pollen to several seed pods, successfully producing a repeat blooming hybrid when crossed with C. japonica 'Wendy'. Camellia japonica 'September Morn' also known as 'Shirabyôsh'

'Lady Clare' is often seen in the gardens of the southern United States. In fact, it might be said that no camellia collection is complete without at least one ...of these classic camellias. Once you fall in love with 'Lady Clare', you will begin to notice the big pink blooms surrounding a prominent column of bright yellow stamens from late fall on into the winter. C. japonica 'Akashigata' originated in Kanto District of Japan and was imported into Europe by Louis van Houtte of Brussels, Belgium who sold it to the Caledonia Nursery circa 1887, where it was named 'Lady Clare'. While the blooms are prized, the plant will be bushy and lush, making it an excellent backdrop or specimen plant for your home garden. Only three left! Call and reserve yours today.
