In 1897, 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon wrote to The New York Sun asking is there a Santa Claus. The paper’s response, written by editor Francis Pharcellus Church, became an instant classic. Every year, newspapers around the country republish Virginia’s letter and Church’s response. We have a similar tradition, but for Mother’s Day. Every year, we republish The Mom Test, our best advice about contracts. And yes, there is a real Mom. https://mailchi.mp/022d7ab08586/momtest2021

Why Don’t Some TV Shows Sound the Way They Used To? Licensing issues have gutted the soundtracks of many beloved series on streaming services, resulting in bewildering music cues and missing theme songs. https://www.nytimes.com//tv-soundtracks-dawsons-creek-frea
Happy Passover, chag sameach, to all who celebrate. The traditional closing refrain of the Seder is Next year in Jerusalem. But this year we should add Next year in person; next year together."

Michigan is a No. 1 seed for the first time since the Fab Five graced the hardwood. But you won’t see any Fab Five items as Jalen Rose and Chris Webber have been fighting over the trademark since 2002! https://www.actionnetwork.com//michigan-basketball-jalen-r

To some, elite has become something of a dirty word. But in some fields, it’s nice to be considered elite.

Some of you may know that Marc’s brother, Scott, served as a law clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 20062007. Scott is in Washington to participate in the funeral ceremonies of the next few days. Her former clerks take shifts standing vigil with the Justice like an honor guard for the next several days. Most of Justice Ginsburg’s 159 former clerks will be at the Supreme Court for the arrival ceremony at 9:30 in the morning, and then her clerks will take shifts standing ...vigil until the private interment service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. RBGthe Notorious RBGis one of the giants of American history. She earned a place in U.S. history well before she took a seat on the Supreme Court. The cases that secured equal rights for women were all cases that RBG spearheaded and argued and won at the Supreme Court as a lawyer decades before she became a Justice. Scott recently posted a story on Twitter that shows a side of RBG that's more personal than most of the tributes you’ve read or will be reading over the next several days. It shows a lighthearted part of Justice Ginsburg that didn’t often get seen in public. It’s a touching story. We hope you enjoy it. https://cheezburger.com//former-clerk-shares-wholesome-sto
