DISTRICT 2 UPDATE ON ONE WAY PAIRS: The One Way Pairs project has started. This project will provide an additional two lanes of traffic coming into the Downtown area from Doris Street out to just east of Dickerson Street. There will be an addition of a four lane round-a-bout at Doris Street and Jonesboro Rd. The additional lanes will help improve traffic moving through the downtown area and will be completed by 6/30/2019.... Most of the initial work will be done in the wooded areas, clearing land, water line relocation, sewer relocation, new road bed construction, ect, and will not affect any traffic. The round-a-bout construction is tentatively set for spring to summer of 2018. GDOT will be updating the City for road closures with a 14 day notice and will have signs out for Detours. GDOT expects 10 Days of road closure for Hampton Street Tie-in and two, three day closures at the railroad and Doris street areas. If anyone has complaints about the contractors please forward to City Hall and it will be forwarded to GDOT Contract Manager.
