MCG Emergency Medicine Residency 16.02.2021

Our veterans left everything they knew and loved and served with exemplary dedication and courage so we could all know a safer America and a more just world. They have been tested in ways the rest of us may never fully understand.... On Veterans Day, and every day, let us show them the extraordinary gratitude they so rightly deserve... ~Barack Obama, 2015 November 5th, quoted from The White House Office of the Press Secretary

Congratulations to our Resident of the Month, Brittni Ruble! Dr. Ruble’s positive attitude, solid clinical performance, and constant professionalism gave her a slight edge over numerous worthy contenders this month. The real winner is likely her dog Barney, as she seems likely to spend her Amazon gift card on some dog toys if he plays his cards right. #rotm #emresidentofthemonth #emresidency #emergencymedicineresidency #medicalcollegeofgeorgia #augustauniversity #emdocsrock #emegencymedicine #emed #residency #englishbulldog #barney #pupsofinstagram #sweetboy

Resident spotlight Name: Emilie Offerman, DO, PGY-1 Medical School: Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences... Why did you choose Emergency Medicine? I love EM because you see patients of all ages and acuities. You get to help people in critical situations and do procedures, while still having opportunities to educate patients on their new diagnoses or basic health needs Why did you choose MCG? I knew right away that MCG was my fit. I clicked well with the residents and faculty at my interview, and the program fit the high acuity with a diverse patient population that I was looking for. Bonus points for critical care experience, ultrasound, and being an academic program! What would your superpower be and why? Teleportation so I could see family and friends in the midwest easier As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teach or a doctor- I hope to serve as both one day! What is your favorite breakfast food? All of them! Breakfast is my fave! Coffee to tea? Coffee for sure! Are you a traveler or a homebody? Traveler What’s you’re favorite place of all places you have traveled? This is a tough one! I’d say my top 3 places in no particular order are Colorado, the Oregon coast, and Glacier National Park. Have you ever completed anything on your bucket list? Yes! Skydiving, and I’d 100% do it again! #emergencymedicine #emresidency #pgy1 #emdoc #emdocsrock #femaledoctorsrock #fiercefemale #medicalcollegeofgeorgia #augustaga #augustauniversity
