Resident Spotlight Name: Ashley Miller, DO Hometown: North Augusta, SC ... Undergrad: Clemson University (Go Tigers!) Medical School: VCOM-Carolinas Campus Why MCG Pediatrics: I chose MCG because of the amazing people I met as a visiting medical student and on interview day. I loved how close the residents were with each other and felt like this program would help me learn to be a great pediatrician. Another top factor was that MCG was located in Augusta. I grew up right across the river in North Augusta and love being able to provide medical care in the same area where I grew up! Favorite Augusta Restaurant: Abel Brown Favorite thing to do in Augusta: Running, kayaking, Green Jackets gamesEATING! Also Augusta is great because the beach and mountains are within a 3 hr drive!! Resident/PGY-3 Chief Spotlight Name: Molly LaCoursiere, DO Hometown: all over (Navy brat), ended up in Vienna, VA... Undergrad: Saint Mary's College (Notre Dame sister school, Go Irish!) Medical School: PCOM Philly Why MCG Pediatrics: There are so many great things about this program - the vast pathology, high acuity, well-trained residents, beauty of Augusta, to name a few. What really stuck out to me on interview day, though, was the people. The attendings are so approachable and really care about their residents. My co-residents have become like family. Any residency is hard; it's important to be surrounded by good people. I am so lucky to have that at MCG. Favorite Augusta Restaurant: Finch and Fifth, Frog Hollow (#feelinFancy), Cork and Flame, Manuels Favorite thing to do in Augusta: run (so many great trails)kayak on the canal/river with my husband and friends Fun fact: Most of the furniture in my house was refinished or designed/built by my husband and me
