About 5 weeks ago someone decided Meow Town was the best place for this little man to be (dumped). I came out to do some laundry and there he was. Just sitting in front of my car. Missing one eye and the other- well- that will be removed soon. Here we go...not having a clue who would just leave a kitten, sutures in one eye, covered in fleas and not even in a carrier! I called every vet practice I could think of and no one had done an enucleation on a kitten recently. (You ca...n see the suture knot in some of the old pics). Fast forward- he’s healthy and sharp as a tack! So smart and resilient. He climbs to the top of the cat trees and shimmies down backwards with ease. Please, please, please don’t be the one that dumps an animal at the door of a shelter, a vet, a pet store or a business like mine. We love and care for animals (obviously) but please- abandoning a pet is not the answer. Reach out to rescues. Friends. Family. Don’t get discouraged. I get calls all of the time asking for help.I always do my best. Whoever brought this angel to me caught me on a weak (yes weak) day. I couldn’t give up on him. I don’t know his story...I really wish I did. Either way- he’s been a part of our family since I took him home that day. This is Hamilton.

Due to the ongoing spread of Covid19, Meow Town will continue to do all check in/outs at the door. We have had such positive feedback and gratefulness from our clients- it would only be right to continue putting myself (single mom here!) and our older clients first. Mask up, stay safe Augusta! Many of you saw the last post we made for Mufasa’s birthday... It’s with such sadness I share the news that this sweet baby boy has crossed over the rainbow bridge Mufasa was diagnosed last Saturday with Renal dysplasia. It is a congenital disease in which one or both of a his kidneys developed abnormally. The kidneys are typically small, deformed, and never fully mature. This condition often results in poor kidney function and, in many cases, kidney failure. symptoms of...ten do not appear until weeks, months, or several years into a pet’s life. In some cases, a pet may not show any symptoms, or may show symptoms that are mild enough to go unnoticed. With Mufasa, it came on fast. Unfortunately, there’s absolutely nothing you can do. This is Mufasa! His humans celebrated his first birthday with some stinky cat food- all just for him! Mufasa has been boarding with us since she first adopted him. Sadly, this is probably Mufasa’s last visit as they are moving on to new adventures in Destin, Fla! @ Meow Town
