Qualifications to be SGA President and Vice President are this Tuesday and Wednesday, March 10th-11th, from 9am-5pm in the CSC Lobby! If you have any questions please contact President Adam Penland, Vice President Michaela Jones, or Election Marshall Vikram Lokasundaram!

This weekend Vice President Jones, Senator-At-Large King, and Senior Senator King are attending Florida State University’s Multicultural Leadership Summit and are joined by Dr. Ansley Booker, the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Mercer. They’ve been attending seminars and workshops that will help inspire and encourage effective leadership in terms of reaching out to others and tips for leading proactively in today’s constantly evolving climate. They also got to meet the creator of an awesome superhero, #LaBoriqueña, @mredgardonyc. (@laborinquenacomics) His background in digital art and the story behind this beautiful hero is moving and it was a pleasure to meet him and hear about his activism. We can’t wait to share what we’ve learned with other leaders back home!

Last week we hosted our annual Christmas Tree Lighting, and it was such a beautiful ceremony! From the singing, to the spoken word, to the beautiful message; we thank all the students, faculty, and families who joined us for one of Mercer’s most beloved traditions and hope you all are enjoying your holiday break!

All of us in SGA want to wish you students good luck with your finals! Upperclassmen, you’re one semester closer to graduation. Freshmen, congratulations on making it through your first semester! Finish strong and enjoy your Winter breaks, we’ll be back at it in January!

A huge congratulations are in order for our very own President, Adam Penland, for being crowned 2019 HOMECOMING KING! We are so very proud of you, Adam! And students, thank you all for voting! We hope you’ve enjoyed your homecoming weekend.
