Here's how we're starting 2020! A couple of months ago I got a call from a nice guy named Danny who said he worked for a production company that is putting on #oprahs2020visiontour I totally thought it was a) a joke, and b) he wanted to sell me something. But turns out it was totally legit. Apparently the tour, with a January 25th date in Atlanta, recommends menu items at various local restaurants for Oprah's fans who follow a Weight Watchers lifestyle. I sent them my Mi...tchili recipe, and lo and behold, MetroFresh Mitchili (Mitchell's Turkey Chili) was chosen as a WW Favorite! I was not allowed to say anything until today. It's super exciting to be part of Oprah's incredible world, (at least a little part of it.) I think she is truly inspirational for so many people. My friends. It is with great pleasure I'm able to announce that we've done it again! We've fully funded our newest garden in Africa through DIG. It took MetroFresh under 4 weeks to raise $5000 through sales and donations to sponsor our third garden in three years. Thank you to Sarah Koch, Richie Arpino, my whole staff and all who added to MetroFresh's own commitment. As of right now we are at 111% of our goal, or $5592 raised. The money will be used to build a community garde...n in Senegal, teaching nutritional and sustainable farming to an at risk, marginalized community. Not only will they be able to feed themselves, but with they will be able to take any surplus food to market and add to their income. MetroFresh is thrilled to partner with @reaplifedig.org.
