More progress on the COVID front. In January people will be able to buy an at home test that doesn't require a prescription and will provide results within 30 minutes, rather than having to send the specimen in to a lab like some current at home tests.

Above and Beyond: Enhancing Window Visits Enjoy this month's Above and Beyond vignette. We hope these stories help highlight the many ways care managers at Metta Johnson and Associates help our clients. Metta was able to see one of her clients who lives in a nursing home for a window visit recently. Although it was difficult to hear through the window, Metta knew that song is a great way to connect with people living with dementia. So not only did Metta sing some familiar c...hildhood favorites, but she pantomimed the lyrics. The client recognized the tune and arm movements and joined along with a smile. She was also able to bring along her dog Millie, which brought smiles to her clients. Outside of the normal routine of review medical records, medications, and care plans, we always consider the whole person. Society has become aware of what the senior care world has know for ages. Social connection is just a crucial as medical care. These stories have been shared with the permission of the client and/or identifying information has been changed for privacy.

An update on the rapid antigen test concern from GA DPH by way of Fox5 Atlanta (thank you!). The data are coming. They're working out protocols for reporting an...d the case definition. It will be included in the daily report at some point. (Another thank you!) Beware that when they start providing these data, it may potentially result in a large jump in cases, depending on how many rapid antigen tests have been performed so far. If so, don't panic. It won't necessarily mean that we had a large jump overnight, but that there was more disease circulating than we previously realized. The President and the Governor announced that 3 million of these tests are coming to Georgia.
