This week we are highlighting one our hard working Officers These students work diligently behind the scenes to make the show season run smoothly for the team! Carson is a big part of our MGA team, she is a great leader as our Treasurer.... She recently did very well in our online competition by placing second in her division and helped secure our team a win! From Carson: My goal in the next online show is to do MY best, even if that means placing or not! My favorite part of being on the team and being an officer is being able to connect and support fellow equestrians. Accomplished Rider of the week Anna Ash ~She is our Level 1 rider for the MGA Knights Equestrian team. ... She has seen success this year, despite covid restrictions! Anna was able to secure second place for MGA in our online competition. She also has had some personal success with her horse (Stetson) that she boards at @middlegeorgia_equestriancenter (Our teams host arena). The American Ranch Horse Association recognized her sportsmanship throughout this past years show season and she was able to travel out of state to receive her sportsmanship award. From Coach Allie: Anna has grown considerably as a rider over this past year and we couldn't be prouder of her MGA and ARHA accomplishments. We enjoy having her around the barn and she is a great representation of us at Middle GA Equestrian Center and our MGA Knights Equestrian Team. Great job Anna!! In what looks like another season with no shows, we are proud of our team in their efforts of continuing to practice with hopes of an amazing next show season!! We obviously can’t always control what happens around us but we can control ourselves. We will continue to look for creative opportunities like this virtual horse show and continue training and preparing. When the time comes, execution is key!! We want to Congratulate our Junior Riders Sarah Andrews and Gav...in Wright who received their awards in the mail from the IHSA for winning their 2020 Online Horse Show competition. They competed against riders from around the country and won their division in Western horsemanship and Ranch Riding. They are pictured here with their prizes, congrats to adding points to the teams overall great win! We would like to thank @rideihsa again for having such a show!! We are grateful the IHSA and our region leaders adapted to find a way for us compete this year and look forward to 2021! Jason Williams in Athletics for help ensuring smooth travel through the year. We are thankful that Middle Georgia State University allows us to be a team and represent the school. We are also thankful to those that helped get this team started 4 years ago and everyone that follows, shares and continues to spread the word of our growing success. Much of our success is on the backs of our riders who not only practice but also have to hit the streets looking for sponsorships and donations as we are a club sport. Our team does many fundraisers throughout the season as well.
