Meeting - Tuesday February 7th at 6pm This month we have Wes Jones down from Lawrenceville. Wes will be demonstrating the techniques and tools he uses to finish turn deep bowls. We get a lot of questions about keeping the bevel rubbing on the curve as you make the transition from the side of the bowl to the bottom. This will be a great and timely demo.

Meeting - Tuesday November 1st at 6pm This month our own Steve Mellott will demonstrate his take on single piece, solid body Christmas ornaments. This is perfect timing Many turners would like to turn a Christmas ornament but don't believe they have the skills to hollow a globe or turn a fancy finial and icicle . In this demo, Steve will show you how to turn several nice ornaments out of a single piece of wood without any hollowing or fancy tools. If you have children or grandchildren, they can participate in the process by coloring various parts of the ornament.

For the second part of the presentation , he will turn a wine glass stem and show all the steps from drilling the glass stem hole and final shaping to the final glue-up of the base and stem.

Meeting - Tuesday August 2nd at 6pm This month we are having Peggy Schmid (www.PeggySchmid.com) down to share some of her artist wisdom. The demonstration will explore the use of color and techniques to achieve balance in the colors we blend together. She will also show how she makes some of the texturing bits she makes and uses on her pieces. Peggy will turn a small platter to give an idea of how the different types of texture and pigments come together in a finished piece. We will also see the difference that acrylic, dyes, spray, and oil paints can make when applied to a texture.
Meeting - Tuesday July 5th at 6pm This month one of our own members, Larry Parks will be demonstrating bowl turning basics and bowl design; the little stuff makes a big difference. Larry describes himself as a wood turner not a wood artist, preferring the natural form and beauty of wood over painted pieces. He does not mind turning crappy wood. He says he has learned a lot from crappy wood like how to patch cracks and use them as design elements.
