That is IT for 2020! The Christmas Craft Fair that capped off our seventh season this past Saturday was an unqualified SUCCESS! The weather was gorgeous, and even with a few no-shows we still had over 100 vendors (including more than TWO DOZEN first-timers.) Also good: the crowds of happy customers were definitely in a buying mood! Stuart and Emily Smith were on hand to represent the FOCUS (Friends Of Christ United in Service) food bank, which was the recipient of the day'...Continue reading

Two days until Halloween and the Fall Festival Market. We may get some showers today, but Saturday looks to be a PERFECT fall day, with temps in the 50s and 60s, and only a 2% chance of RAIN.
Only three more days until the Fall Festival Market. This Saturday, from 9:00 - 2:00
We still have this weekend's Fall Festival Market to go, but this past Saturday marked the end of the 2020 regular season for the Midland Community Farmers Market. And thanks to the weekly contributions from our wonderful vendors, the market is ready to make another charitable donation: yesterday, we sent $1200 to Camp Dream in Warm Springs. Established in 1996, Camp Dream provides a traditional summer camp experience for children and young adults with moderate to severe phy...sical and developmental disabilities. These conditions frequently impose significant financial burden to the camper's family, which often negates their ability to participate in recreational and social activities. Donations allow Camp Dream to provide vital social opportunities at little to no cost to the camper. No child has ever been turned away due to the severity of their condition or their financial capabilities. Offering a rare one-to-one camper-to-counselor ratio, the camp annually serves more than 1000 special needs children and young adults, individuals with every type of disability, across every sector of society. Campers enjoy activities such as swimming, boating, train rides, water slides, horseback riding, bowling and other sports, motorcycle rides, arts and crafts, games, food, and fun. The social interactions and activities of the camp enhance the quality of life for the campers and improve their general welfare, while the memories, laughter and friendships that are created during a camping session leave indelible impressions on hearts and minds, an experience that both campers and counselors carry with them for the rest of their lives. The Midland Community Farmers Market is proud to help with a donation to CampDreamGA.org, so that these wonderful children and adults can, for a short period of time, allow their disabilities to disappear.
That's all, folks! Our final regular weekly market of 2020 was a bit smaller than some we've had this year, but it capped off our best season ever. We had 39 vendors there on Saturday, including (as almost every week) some newcomers: Ashley Stroud brought the fragrant wax melts she makes, and David and Vicki Turner brought fig jam, Concord grape jelly (from their own vines) and some wonderful pickled green beans. Welcome! We hope you'll be back as regulars next year. Alt...Continue reading
Today's our FINAL regular market of the year. Come join us!Today's our FINAL regular market of the year. Come join us!
Go to MidlandMarket.org to reserve a spot for Saturday (our last regular weekly market of 2020.) Or just come Saturday morning for one of our "drop-in" spaces.
One to go! It was another chilly but beautiful morning on Saturday. 48 vendors showed up to our second-to-last regular weekly market. Among them were newcomers Amelia Hoad with sewing crafts, and Lisa Little with some very impressive furniture and other wooden items carved from cedar logs. Thanks for joining us! You almost missed us this year, but we hope you'll become regulars next season. Our final charity of the regular season is Camp Dream up in Warm Springs, and we'r...e on track to be able to send them $1200 after next week's market. If you haven't yet gone to their website at CampDreamGA.org, I urge you to check them out, to see where your donations are going. It's an amazing idea, and we're happy to be able to help them in their work. Only twelve days until Halloween, and you know what that means: our Fall Festival Market 2020! Even if you're not taking part as a vendor this time, please spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and coworkers, and plan to come on out yourself to enjoy the day as one of our visitors. Don't forget to bring your kids and grandkids (in their costumes, of course!) for Trick-or-Treating. My thanks to the Masons down at the Midland Lodge, who have agreed to let some of our vendors park by their hall and across the street that day, so we can save our main lot for visitors. We're in the home stretch now, with just one regular market to go in 2020. Don't miss it!
