Resolution time again! Time to get in shape mentally, physically and spiritually. Come on. Tonight 6-8.
I always start my new year with a good workout. We will be training hard for a healthy year on Friday. You are welcome too. Face 2021 head-on!
What is needed this time of year?...exercise!
Tired of treadmills and elipticals? Come on out and burn calories the fun way.
Come train with us. All fitness levels, all skill levels (even none), all ages, male and female, all welcome. Monday's and Fridays 6-8pm. No fees. You have been given a temple and offered the grace of God. What are you doing with 'em.
Tonight's class is especially geared towards people who are older and/or out of shape. Come see what your temple is still capable of accomplishing. If you have waiting for a workout that you can do and enjoy, this is it!!

Grappling with humans returning soon! Every Mignumi ryu class is different but we always follow a similar outline: begin with prayer, breathing and meditation; next cardio warm-up; then strength or agility training; followed by stretching; then stances, falls, rolls, ground positions; technique training through at least 3 ranges; sparring; mat chat; and finally we close every class with scripture, prayer and a bow. This video is our closing.
Don't need a lot to stay healthy. Just the desire. Your body is a temple; a gift from God. Enjoy it for as long as you have it.
Mignumi ryu is open for business. Tonight 6-8. Socially distant workouts are the current norm. Also I have a home gym that my family and friends are welcome to use. Some of us (no names please) have noticed ourselves expanding during the crisis-virus. Just not really burning the calories standing and holding the refrigerator door open.

Yes we are doing mma tonight. This is what social distancing looks like in the dojo. If we have more than 10 folks we will split into different rooms. If you show up with your little virus friend you will defend yourself against swords and staffs.
If you are tired of watching videos of my granddaughter, come on over and I'll get some some of you.
Mignumi ryu is: boxing, karate, judo, jiu-jitsu, also aikido, wrestling, muy-thai, ninjitsu, wushu with some occasional butt-crack making the video. Enjoy!

No mma tomorrow night. 2/21/20. I will be attending a dance with the beautiful/dangerous girl in this video. However, this is no excuse. You should still get in some training before the weekend festivities begin. Cardio, calisthenics, shadow-boxing, level changes can be done anywhere. Get busy! Then meet us Monday to restore you after the weekend festivities.

Did you once again resolve to get healthier in the New year? Bring your flabby, winded temple on down! We constantly strive to improve. Strength, stamina, flexibility, serenity, confidence, faith, courage all can be developed. This is not a fad. People have been using these ideas for thousands of years because they work. Your health is not judged by the scales alone. Come look at your temple objectively and learn yourself. We all have room for improvement.
Next year you too can come sort out your festivus grievances with us! Please note our aluminum pole has the American flag on it.

Well being as Javoris is in the hospital with a broken ankle I figured it is a great time to post a video of catching him in an ankle lock. Seriously though, he was in an ugly wreck and broke his ankle. You should go see him and maybe utter a prayerful word or two. Medical center room 603.

Health isn't just about weight loss. It is also about strength and flexibility and emotional stability and spiritual attainment and mental acuity. Get off the elliptical and go hike up a hill. When was the last time you deliberately tried to learn something new by choice? Meditated? Prayed? Gave something away that you wanted to keep?

Sometimes the devil, the world or others are just trying to trip you up. This particular trip is called o-uchi gari, major inside leg trip, and is hard to defend unless you time it well. Learn to defend against trips both literal and allegorical with us.
Come train with us. A workout that you can do and will enjoy. You will feel better after than you did before.

Whenever we talk about stewardship in church we always discuss money but the first thing God gave us to steward is our body. We should be good stewards with all God gave us: health, wealth, intellect, emotion, talents, time, nature and the things we love. If we still breathe we still can improve.
Everyone gets on top of life occasionally. Not everyone has the skills to stay there for a while. Balance is a life-skill.
Studies repeatedly confirm that Americans are losing the battle with obesity. Correspondingly diabetes, heart problems, cardiovascular problems and respiratory issues are all on the rise. The answer is not found in the pharmacy. The answer is not in fad diets. The answer is not in surgery. The answer is living healthy. Also everyone already knows that healthier means happier. Live like you are a temple.
