Everyday, The Panel Guys (and Gals) work to honor the legacy of Ted S. Miller and Dave Clapperton, and today we recognize their courageous battles with cancer on #WorldCancerDay. Those who knew Ted and Dave also know that cancer did not define who they were. As both men valiantly fought their battles with cancer, they continued to live fulfilling and productive lives. MillerClapperton honors everyone who has been affected by cancer and we encourage everyone to learn about prevention, early detection, and treatment. Learn more about how the American Cancer Society is raising cancer awareness by encouraging support and action.

The big game is exciting and all, and the youngest quarterback to be named MVP may be playing against the quarterback with the most wins, but do you want to know what else #ThePanelGuys are super excited for? A new project - Atrium Health Carolina Rehabilitation in Charlotte, North Carolina. Plans call for a 150,000-square-foot hospital with 70 patient rooms, including a 9,300-square-foot outpatient clinic. There will also be space for two additional rooms for more expansion. There will be a therapy garden, an aquatic program and an independent living facility. The state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital is scheduled to open in 2022. MillerClapperton recently held The 9th Annual Ted S. Miller Memorial Blood Drive, in memory of our late co-founder. Ted bravely fought stage IV cancer for ten years before his passing in 2012. During his treatment, he received numerous blood transfusions and we honor the memory of a great man each October with this blood drive so that others may live to fight another day. Blood donations to the American Red Cross are down significantly this year, and although we surpassed our goal of 25 life-saving units (we donated 31 pints this year), we encourage everyone to donate whom is able to do so. #MCCares

Architects and general contractors often contact product manufacturers to inquire about the costs of materials. While manufacturers are certainly not a bad resource to utilize, they aren't necessarily the best. In most cases, the manufacturer controls a very small percentage of product install costs which often results in the formulation of fictional and uneducated square footage quotes. This new 40,000 square foot medical facility opened earlier this year, and serves as an outpatient ambulatory surgical center, diagnostic center, and office space for 12 physicians in Vestavia Hills. The multi-specialty surgical center includes spinal surgery, orthopedic surgery, ear, nose, and throat services, pain management and other specialties. We first announced construction of Globe Life Field, the new home of the Texas Rangers, in 2019. The ballpark measures approximately 1,7000,000 square feet and seats around 41,000 fans. The $1.1 billion project sits on a 13-acre site and is currently the 2020 World Series location. Last week, to celebrate the Atlanta Braves National League Championship Series, the Panel Guys decided to #MixitUp. Throughout the week we tested our Braves knowledge with trivia, helped ourselves to a few ballgame appropriate snacks, and hosted our own home run derby. Even though the Braves 2020 season has come to an end, we look forward to watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays play at a #PanelGuysProject, Globe Life Field, in Arlington, Texas.

Last year, on this day, MillerClapperton celebrated forty years at the forefront of fabricating and installing cladding products and systems. Today, we celebrate our 41st anniversary and reflect on our achievements over the course of the last year. In our 40th year, we were voted an AJC Top Workplace for the FIFTH consecutive year, we moved into our new headquarters, and completed a number of notable projects, to include Moving in the Spirit, Arthrex Office Tower, Grant Park Gateway, and so many more. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with so many talented professionals, and we look forward to many more years of creating iconic facades with our extraordinary partners and peers. #ThePanelGuys

The first phase of this long awaited project involved adapting connected 12- and six-story office buildings into 28,000 square feet of new retail space topped by 342 luxury apartments with a canopy restaurant. The Draper, at 5050 N. Broadway, is part of a wave of new developments along Broadway that have transformed the Uptown neighborhood, which is known for having a lot of character and its own unique culture.
