A huge thank you to Susannah Cox Maddux for her generous bid sending $250 to Fair Fight Action! Also, thank you to everyone who helped make this auction successful by bidding or sharing, we are so overwhelmed with gratitude and the love of our community. At first, I was simply bidding on the cake to support the brilliant female creatives at Mill Hill Bakers Collective. When I became the lucky recipient and thanks to a discussion with my cofounders at The Web, I knew I want...ed to pay it forward. Making a gift to Fair Fight in honor of Mill Hill Bakers Collective and Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is fitting considering the needs for justice in our community. I am thankful for the work our Bibb County Sheriff Department is doing to help us hold steady, especially during our peaceful protests. And I believe Sheriff Davis and his crew will work for more good in our community. The only downside: Not getting to devour what I know was a delectable treat. The Mill Hill Bakers Collective is a low-cost shared kitchen space for bakers in the Macon area located in the Mill Hill Community Arts Center, operated by the Macon Arts Alliance. Through this collective, bakers will be able to grow their businesses with access to a full commercial kitchen, pastry arts education, and other local resources. The Collective also provides opportunities for bakers to teach ticketed classes, promote their products, and participate in community events.

*Auction extended to 8pm* The Mill Hill Bakers Collective have come together to make a stand against racial inequality. This cake was a true group effort. The bottom tier is chocolate cake made by @sugarsoireebakingco and filled with strawberry preserves from @em_farms. The top tier is vanilla cake made by @maryvirginiacakes and filled with peach preserves from Em Farms. The frosting was made by @ohhoneybakingco. The cake was assembled by @lisamaecakes, with detail work ...done by @ohhoneybakingco. The fists were cut out by all of us, and the ribbon and board were provided by Mary Virginia Cakes. The topper was provided by @_hartstudio. We are auctioning this cake off and sending 100% of proceeds to @fairfightaction, which is an organization that promotes fair elections in Georgia and around the country, encourages voter participation in elections, and educates voters about elections and their voting rights. The bid starts now at $150 and will end tomorrow at 5pm. Bids can be placed in the comments on this post or via direct message. I had left over scuppernong grapes and needed to find a way to get rid of them without throwing them away. - - - - What’s your favorite thing to make?
