Scott Jedlinski has been my friend for only a few years now, but in that time he has had a tremendous impact on my evolution as a shooter. Now that I am teaching more and more I’m continuing to learn from his instruction style and emphasis on body mechanics as much as I do his lessons on working a dot. This is an introductory class and is suitable for beginners or anyone looking to improve their skills with a handgun.

Bill only leaves Warshington State when he forgets to stop doing PT and accidentally runs into Idaho, so to have him in Georgia is really a treat for us. ... (Really we only got him because he is teaching the SWAT boys in Savannah how to use the shield that week, and he’s tired of me begging him to come) Less than 10 spots left, if you are serious about your proficiency with a handgun this is one you don’t wanna miss.

Like all of you we are horrified by the recent murder of Ahmaud Arbery in Glynn county. No one will ever know exactly why this father son duo set out to be vigilantes, but we do know that because they chose to take the law into their own hands and were carrying guns the situation quickly spiraled out of control. This post is not meant to address the delicate subject of race relations in the Deep South, it is simply a reminder to everyone that carries a gun for SELF DEFENSE ...the responsibilities and consequences of what using that gun actually looks like. Do you know your states self defense laws? Do you know when you are allowed to use lethal force? Do you know the difference between stand your ground and castle doctrine? Do you know what a duty to retreat is? If you can’t 100% articulate these points and you protect yourself and your family with a firearm you are being negligent by ignoring your shortcomings. Get the proper training, and understand that if god forbid you ever need to defend your life or the life of a third party, the difference between self defense and murder can be razor thin. I don’t know this to be true, but judging by the video of this incident neither of the McMichaels appear to have ANY firearms training. I truly believe that this lack of education contributed to the unnecessary death of Amaud Arbery. We have said it ad nauseum, knowledge does not happen through osmosis. I’m willing to bet that both of the McMichaels have been around guns their whole lives and sadly that proximity did not offer either of them an understanding of the appropriate use of their guns (or in this case the wildly inappropriate), and as a result a young man is dead for no reason other than ignorance. As gun owners it is up to us to prevent these types of tragedies from happening.
