Molly's 100th Birthday

Hi folks! My son and I are in Virginia Beach hoping to see Grandmother Molly (she's in Williamsburg). Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and us for that matter. Molly is having some challenges with her health and some medications. We've been here since Saturday and still haven't been able to see her. :( So close, yet so far. All prayers and good thoughts and vibes are treasured. We did walk on the beach yesterday and picked up trash. Every bit of kindness helps. Here we are trying to distract ourselves with the beauty, wonder and peace the shore brings.

Good morning everyone! A huge thanks to all who have sent in cards and notes to Molly. My heart swells every time I open the mailbox, but today just about did me in. As Molly's birthday nears, I am finding anxiety is creeping in...anxiety about the drive, the schedule, being away from home, and especially hoping that I can adequately express to Molly the impact she's had on me. I'm a little fragile at the moment. So when I opened the mailbox this morning and open the mysterious package to find ALL OF THESE BIRTHDAY WISHES...I absolutely melt! Wendy Cope, you and your crew ROCK!!!! ...as do all of you who have shared kindness, prayers and well wishes in honor of my amazing grandmother! I can't thank you enough!

The countdown is on! Her birthday is almost here. It's a beautiful day to be KIND! I'm not sure how old she is here, but it was a bit ago. ;) There's one thing that doesn't change with 90+ years, the smile of a child warms the heart.

Do you love animals and nature? So does Molly! Here is a picture SHE took in the 70's. Note: I am pretty sure there were no special/long lenses involved, he was THIS close to her! She was in Rwanda near the border with the Congo. This fella was playing and curious about Molly. His mom was hanging/swinging in a tree nearby. She must have decided that Jr had strayed too far and wasn't sure of Grandmother. She came up to grandmother and firmly, but gently put her hand on grandmother's shoulder, gave a gentle shove, scooped up her baby and left. Can you imagine?
