Playing music increases language capabilities, math, motors skills, analytical skills, creativity, and intelligence. Unlike other hobbies, playing musical instruments boosts corpus callosum by creating new connections. An improved corpus callosum leads to improved brain function, problem-solving skills, memory, and executive skills.

Over the last 60 years, I've played a lot of music, and played with a great many musicians. As a founding member of Jefferson Airplane, I put a lot of time on stage and in the recording studio with Jorma Kaukonen, Paul Kantner and Skip Spence, Skip was fired for going on an acid trip that ended in India instead of on stage at the Avalon Ball Room. He founded Mobey Grape. He was great..he is dead. Paul Kantner was great. .he's dead too. Signe was a fabulous singer. She's dead too. Now Greg Elder is alive and by far the best guitarist. ..and the best five string banjo player ive ever played with in my life.... ill be playing with him In September. ....thanks Bob Harvey
